Does anybody have an easy way of doing this?

I recently bought a Razr v3. I'm waiting on the software that will allow me to transfer data, so I decided to looking into ringtone making. It looks like iTunes would be the easiest route, but for some reason it won't let me convert to mp3 (only AAC's ?!?) Is there another way?

Sure... you can use programs like http://www.audiograbber.com-us.net to pull the files into a .mp3 format.

Assuming you have a .mp3 then you can use a program like http://home.hccnet.nl/p.luijer/ which is an mp3 cutter (or just google mp3 cutter).

Basically you find the part of the song you want, set the start and end points and vwhala - save as .mp3 again.

Keep in mind it is important to cut the .mp3 for two reasons.
    1. You are limited to file size, so you can get more songs on for ring tones.
    2. You ringer only goes for like 15 seconds.

If you bought the Mortorola Phone Tools, which you can download btw, it comes with a program to edit the songs down to size. You can also edit pictures to fit as your background really smoothly.

I use it on my V3 with my bluetooth computer adaptor thingy. It works really well and is super user friendly.

Free, cuts, downmixes for size, includes equalization and processing if you want to take out bass or boost mids for clarity on a small speaker like a cell phone, etc.

I use soundforge to clean up the sounds before i send them to the phone, if they have a lot of pink noise and what not. But, the Moto program linked above will allow you to take a 3 minute long song and let you cut any of the song out and transfer it to your phone in less then 30 seconds. Really easy to use....

On my phone you can record something and then set it as your ringtone. Works good too.

Cool. Soooo, who has a good F1 sound done? Or better yet, either the intro music for Speed's F1 coverage, or the intro music for 5th Gear?
