Would love to go to both, but can only do one. Has anyone been to both and would recommend one over the other?

Attended Singapore 2 yrs ago. Top infrastructure supporting the event, extremely convenient track location (walking distance form hotels), and great show around the GP (two concerts included in race ticket). The race was boring but all around was a great experience.

Can't talk about Malaysia GP but they don't have the same level of infrastructure.

Because of time of day and year? They aren't that far apart.

Malaysia's track is out by the airport, out from town. Singapore is a street circuit in town. Singapore used to be fairly sanitized and bland, not sure now, haven't been in a few years.

Having been to both, several times,it comes down to what kind of F1 fan you are.

If you want to actually see some racing with great vantage points around the circuit then Malaysia is tops by a loooong way. They fall down quite a bit on the off track entertainment side of things at the circuit though. Kl is a great city and a lot more spread out than Singapore, plenty of eating places and nightlife too.

Singapore has a fantastic atmosphere with the night lights etc and the general buzz about the place but ,a big but, you generally don't actually get to see much racing at all.Just the 'sound' of them flashing by.Much better to watch on TV.Singapore is a lot safer than KL and generally more places to eat n drink at western prices.

They are both hot and humid, actually Singapore is generally even more humid and kind of tiring in the confines of the track.

So if you want to have a fun weekend with a bit of F1 thrown in then Singapore,if you need your F1 fix then i would definately choose Sepang.

Maybe do Sepang and plus 1 or 2 nights in Singapore before or after the race?

Malaysia, if you are looking more than just the race. The nightlife, the food, shopping, etc. Costs 3 times cheaper too.

The Sepang Circuit is probably one of the best tracks in the world, though it may not be on the F1 schedule much longer

Looks like Singapore might be under threat soon too ....hope you can do at least one of them before they disappear into oblivion.
