    thanks for the heads up.

I have organised a PPI next monday. But i just found out that the car used to be in Naza before, in fact only once to do a clutch change and that is without going through the "proper way" of having registered with Naza first. under-table, backdoor ways of dealing ?

So with that said, the guy in charge at the service centre might have good prior relations with the owner before, and even with the PPI from Naza, it might not have been a true inspection.

Consider to have PPI at EM, Tedco etc. RM300-500..

i have done a search on Tedco, they are more into prepping cars for race on track and car modifications.

Whats EM ? Anywhere else in KL that 'specializes' in Ferraris and exotics other than Naza ?

Tedco, 0362518298. Address: No.38A, Jalan Segambut Lentang, 51200, KL

Exquisite Marque, 0378859628. Address: No 1 & 3 Jalan PJU 3/41, Sunway Damansara Technology Park, 47810 PJ.

You should have a look at both workshops. Lots of exotics there..

    uncle uber,

you worry way too much and have heard way too much !!! lol just kidding mate.....well i am not sure of back door dealings but anything as such is boleh in bolehland!!!

if you worry that the guys at NI could be hand in glove with the ex owner, send it to the indy centres as suggested by F-car above.

    i sent mine to Ultra-Tune in Glenmarie....03- 7620 2238......

even better.....if you are really really worried about the car....as they say a piece of mind is a good investment, send it to two different centres for PPI!!!

keep us posted about the outcome and hope it turns out well...cheers

Great. Here's another workshop that comes recommended by a friend. Boss is Zen & he races in the Trofeo Cup based in Sunway.

    Aylezo Competizione Malaysia

Tedco is oldschool & I don't think they have the diagnostic tool for 360.

EM & Ultratune can do it. With anyone, tell them you want to know the update campaigns if can be revealed by the downloads so probably only Naza has the workshop manuals for it. A more pressing concern would be chassis integrity (sub-frame etc), engine, trans & suspension health followed by electrics. An aircon breakdown can run into 5 figures with Naza as Ferrari likes to change entire units rather than parts.

I didn't do any PPI on my 328 & the ex-workshop boss gave ravishing words for it but guess what, after the transaction, he would go on to tell people it's an accident car blah blah blah. What an A.H. right? Anyway, I bought it cheap IMO with an intention to restore so not too concerned.

Yes, Tedco & Kingswell are quite old school.. Kingswell is good for F cars before 355.. My 944 was from Tedco.. Is your 328 ok now?

To be honest, I don't know. Last went to pick it up for an afternoon drive & the reverse gear went missing! They adjusted the gear-shifting cable & probably mis-aligned it the day before so car is back with them again. Bunch of fools really, I was driving it daily without issues & the moment work went it, everything's messed up.

One thing I found out is the car is very light to push! :D

Oic. maybe next time you try out Kingswell.. We need to get a good & reliable workshop for our classic F.. Most if not all of the system such as engine, gearbox etc of your 328 is identical to my Mondial 3.2. Looking forward to meet up with your 328 lol

Btw, I DIY to fix my engine start issue.. always needed a few crank to fire the engine. found out it was due to fused fuel pump connector pin (vertical white connector in the fuse box). very common issue in 308/328/Mondial.. just bought one bosch fuel filter in Sin Ming for $21.40 :)

That's great! And they have ready stocks for our fuel filter? My 3.2 also needs to throttle down or crank few times to start so very good info here. Thanks!

Will also change all the fuses & relays or maybe even the fuse box since old F cars have a reputation for lousy fuseboxes.

Where's Kingswell btw? I'm probably going to send the 328 over to SinMing & have a once over failing which I'll just ship it over to UK. Their fees are very reasonable & a lot of specialists. I just don't have the time to fiddle with my toys anymore :( ditto on the workshop. Need someone experienced on old gals ^^

I get it from UNICO MOTOR (Blk 22 Sin Ming Road, #01-242, Singapore 570022. Tel : 6453 5221). It's located at the HDB opposite those small car workshops near Sin Ming Autocare. They have ready stocks. Part number is Bosch 0450905601. From my research, it's the same filter for Volvo 240. I can buy one for you next week if you want.

As for electrical, best is to clean all the electrical contacts first.. Good to keep one new upgraded fuse box as spare. My fuse box is just few years old but the fuel pump connector is already in bad shape.

Kingswell is in OUG. Opposite Parkson Plaza OUG (Address: 36, Jalan Awan Hijau, Taman OUG. Tel: 79828733). Talk to the boss Mr. Lee or have PPI there, before sending your car all the way to Singapore :)

Thanks CK. That's all very good information here. Latest update on my 3.2 is the engine mountings are gone so it's been sagging down & affected the alignment of the gearshifting which goes to tell us "If it ain't broken don't touch it"! haha It was doing fine before so anyway, they've added shims & adjusted. The engine mounts are 200+ pounds each which is ok so looks like I'll have a proper inspection & see what else she needs for a parts shopping trip ><"

Think they replaced my fuel filter recently but will check the list & see. Have you been driving your Mondial?

On another hand, I'm pondering about getting a 550 coupe, Barchetta or something from Lambo which they've been pushing. Lambo will be nice cos it's new with warranty while the 550s will be workshop time again.

You are most welcome.. it's good to have 2nd/3rd opinion for our classics as the repair/maintenance cost are quite high.. & learn from Fchat 308/328/mondial sections..

Mondial & other cars are my weekend cars.. weekday I ride motorcycle :( Clocked ~500km since I took the Mondial back to Ipoh during Raya holiday.. Really enjoy driving the car!!

550 Barchetta is nice. My vote goes to Gallardo LP550-2 Valentino Balboni, 360CS/430Scud or any Porsche GT3.. A bit too extreme :)

Oh yes! Miss my ex-GT3RS, that's one regret but well, they'll come round again anyway. I had a few near misses on the 3.0 Mondials in the earlier years & even contemplated on the 308Gt4 recently as it runs on carbs & that wedgey shape. So you ride in KL? I'm also thinking of getting a bike here for those errands runabout but looking @ how people drive....maybe not. A couple of friends take to the mountains on the weekends which is really a nice way to enjoy.

Oic, GT3RS is very nice!! Some angles, 308GT4 with the wedgey shape actually looks nicer than Mondial.. IMHO even less mechanic can repair & tune the carbs compared to EFI 328..

No, I ride in JB & Singapore as I work in Singapore.. But recently I started to take BMW more often in Singapore..

This morning just 1 crank to start the wonderful V8. Hot start needed 2 cranks + pressed a bit on the gas pedal.. new fuel filter should helps..

    btw, BMW=Bus MRT Walk lol

good to know you got it sorted bro.......however there are more than one issue for hot start problems.....so slowly check all the boxes along the way to eliminate them all once and for all!!! as for myself, i need to repack my Kluber grease at the flywheel....just waiting for the right time and mood to get it done!!! it's a very messy job!

lol! we must learn that one once the MRTs are up and running in KL!!!

if I were you, whereby you've tried loads of old school V12s already, I think it's only natural to go have fun with the latest technology now!!! AVENTADOR !!!!!!!!!! workshops can only be fun that many times!!! i'm sure you're 328 is keeping you busy in that dept!! but then again.....depreciation is a b i t c h!!! but this is me suggesting on you purely wanting to hear that V12 with no roof!!! my V12 pick of day would actually be a 575!!! fully depreciated and is brilliant in all angles!!!

That's true mate. They're actually pushing the Lp570 to me which is supposed to be a driver's car in it's final year & it's orange. I saw the baby blue @ the Mondial Paris 2012 & that would make me sign but too bad car's painted & already in Singapore's warehouse. Was saving up for the Roadster but too many distractions in between :p

The 575 are still quite pricey, I hear them to be above Rm400K & old F1 tech so no, I'd prefer stick shifts. Ran a poll & most guys prefer the Barchetta which is quite surprising.

i think you already know what you want bro....lol.....it's exactly what you want...ie. open top V12, stick shift, rare or has a potential for appreciation, wanting to go to the workshop(just kidding mate!), and gorgeous (without that baby pram of a roof!)....go get that Barchetta, mate......there are two for your picking under one roof.....make them an offer they can't refuse, which includes full service etc and drive it like ya stole it thereafter!!!
ps: just make sure it's a clear day!
