Guys, for over 2 weeks now, it's been raining really heavily over here between 2-4 pm. the race here starts at 3pm normally, i suspect we'll be able to see a really wet race. the rain was really really heavy today, the wind was crazy as well, was so strong till my umbrella actually broke off.

so, gear up for a wet race...hopefully :D

Thanks Steve. no actually, i would say the Malaysian GP has the cheapest ticket. RM25 for a hill ticket, which is about 5 pounds for u.. :p

anyways, i did want to go for the race, but for grandstand tickets. cost about 1k Malaysian...can't afford that much yet, maybe bext year.

btws, i think the current SC car looks better. thanks again.

yes, the weather is pretty stormy here. another wya from teh airport will be using the ERL ( Express Railway Link ). the train stops in KL Sentral, where, it's actually quite near the city, KL Sentral is located in Brickfields, which is about 10 mins or so away from KL. which hotel you checkin in Maurice?

I don't know if I want to see a wet race or not. Given the last GP I'm a bit apprehensive about this.

+1 it would be better for them to race a little more on dry to get 100% prepared

I'm affraid there will be no car crossing the finish line if it rains this w.end :(

+2 I'm kind of scared that if it rains no one is going to finish. What worries me is that they will either go back to TC or lower the horsepower tremendously. I hope everyone can get it together and learn how to drive those cars. It is going to turn into NASCAR with the cautions and safety car coming out every 5 min. Now I will say it is very entertaining to watch, last race was awesome but in the rain I don't think anyone will finish unless they are going under 100mph. We will see how it goes.

If the drivers were doing it back in the day, they certainly should be able to adapt to it now. Hopefully the first race was due to the fact that it was the first time with everyone in a race situation and they've all sorted their heads out by now.

I like to see a light steady rain to spice things up and equalize the field.
No-one can drive in a heavy downpour making it more luck than skill.

Wet race without Traction control, somehow I see Massa doing a donut on the starting grid.

    LOL

Fuji comes to mind. I put my $$ on Hamilton for a start-finish victory. Kimi 2nd and Massa DNF.

Isn't there a rule that the race is aborted when less than X cars are left? If yes, it will be applied for the first time if it really rains. Australia was already scary, and they had high temperatures and thus a high grip level there...

The loss of traction control is less of an issue vs. the cars such dependency on aero and lack of mechanical grip.

    *sigh*

IMO, Massa will be going on and off the track frequently. LH wins, Kimi DNFs, the BMWs wear out their tires too quickly and are penalized, and then Michael gets 1 point due to attrition of cars. ;)

If you studied Bernie's and Max' words before the season carefully, you'd know that the cars have an excess of mechanical grip with the new rules, and that overtaking isn't a problem anymore *raising index finger*

Most definitely - only race I've been to where the SWAT teams appeared in all their glory.

This is in the sporting regs:

If for whatever reason it is impossible to resume the race, the rules state that “the results will be taken at the end of the penultimate lap before the lap during which the signal to suspend the race was given”.

I don't believe there is a rule where they cancel the race due to the amount of cars. Monaco in 96 was especially hectic. What was it... 4 cars finished? As for Massa doing a donut in Malaysia on the starting grid.... didn't he do that in Australia already?

The rain is going to make things interesting. Especially for those that didn't get to do a full race without traction control.

I'm sure Hamilton will do well since... well.. he always does well. Most likely Heikki, Kimi, and Lewis will be on the podium.
