I know this is a sports site, but current economic conditions make it absolutely impossible for PDVSA, or any other Venezuelan entity to back Pastor. Venezuela has the worlds larges proven oil reserves, yet they are importing West Texas Intermediate, at about 12% over market.. The country is about to crater and there is likely to be considerable political unrest...little time to worry about F1 or a below average driver, no matter how well connected he might be.
