Has anyone had the chance to see this movie? I thought it was excellent. Denzel delivered another "Training Day" performance. The movie was full of some really shocking and powerful scenes. So if you get the chance, check it out!

Really, it was that good? It doesn't look that good to me on the commercials. But if you rank it better than training day I just might have to go see it. BTW does that move drag? I saw Kill Bill Vol. 2 last night and it drag from time to time. But it was still a good movie. I still haven't seen the Vol. 1 either. Bummer!

It is all down to personal preference I guess. Ive been seeing some reviews that have rated it fairly bad, and some that rate it excellent (a lot of them comparing it to training day). But I guess that goes with any movie, some love it, some hate it. After seeing it, I was reminded why Denzel is one of my favorite actors. And the little girl, Dakota Fanning (sp?), she is incredible.

I thought the movie was GREAT, you can feel the chill from the coldness of Mr Creasy (Denzel). Loved his tactics, and those bastards deserved them :)

Best part of the movie..., "what your girlfriend's name".., "none na"..., heheeh, need to watch to find out, dont' want to spoil it.

Really, i thought it sucked due to an absolutly unrealistic ending.

Ok I gotta say this, working with the right kid is priceless and in this case, little Ms Fanning is
amazing !!! Mr. Washington is his always great in the part and does his best with a poorly worked ending. You can tell he and Ms Fanning had a real on screen bond and that makes for the best parts of the film.

    (Warning; Spoilers Below)

Summery; DW looses believability and painfully obvious, post "test audience" added final scene
    makes ending look dumber

Sadly, the film fails in the action and the decisions the DW's character makes. After claiming
to be ruthless in his pursuit of the kidnapper/murderers he is surprisingly lenient on the
women he meets. They are just as guilty as the men but his torture and killing is limited to
only the men and the women get off with little more than a big cussing.

In the end, his final act is also pitiful in regards to the action of the start. It almost seemed
to me the writers gave up on the story as DW's character just lets him self be captured with
    no struggle whatsoever.

And just before the credits role, there is a scene out of nowhere that just has to be an add
on after the original ending tested very poorly. In short, after DW dies riding in the back of a
car, there is a BW fade of the big bad guy being shot in the head by a cop. Absolutely out of
nowhere and looks to be an addition to give the file the little bit of closure it did not even
    have before.

it was very good.. you can always pick on a movie with things that don't make sense but overall it was good..

Kill Bill 2 was horrible compared to the 1st part.. It was too much dialogue explaining.. Just get to the point and kick his ass!

The scene that she was buried alive was way out there!

I liked it for entertainment, but it was flawed.

The last scene, like Strangelove mentioned, was an obvious 'add-in.' They should have just had the AFI guys raid it right on the bridge and kill everyone there.

The lighting was good, but the subtitles (even on English dialogue spoken by the Mexican actors) were used a little much. I'd prefer it with only 1/3 the subtitles it had. I think it gives more depth - because if you're not fluent in Spanish, and you're supposed to be following along with DW, you won't catch everything anyway.

One thing that threw me way off was the soundtrack. Although great music - it had the Lisa Gerrard vocal samples from Gladiator, bass rhythyms that seemed straight from Snatch, and "Una Palabra" at the very end in a scene too similar to the BMW Films X5 videoclip with Stellan Skaarsgard and whathisface the British driver dude, where the same song is used. Arranged by Trent Reznor. ??? It was like Mr. Scott took the music from all these other good films and pulled a P.Diddy remake on it.

I also thought it was odd the girl was alive. Happy ending yes, but it would have been far grittier and critically impressive if his 'Fire' lasted til the end. But then you wouldn't have the catharsis/redemption scene on the bridge.

    Anyways, it was entertaining.
