Here is their facebook. They are called Unikat modelcars. They have done a few 1/43rd models but I have not seen anything this big from them. Maybe the diecast guys would know more in collectibles.

Not to let this thead die.... I am 8MA882

am getting new tires. Denis was kind enough to direct me to some tire size research thread. For show purposes I plan on getting "old" pirellis XWX. I understand correct size is 185VR70-15 and 225VR70-25 (I can´t find wider in Coker site).

What would be the size of the spare?

    Thanks for the help!

The cars I have seen with the original spare have 7inch X 15rim and the original tyres were Pirelli Centaurato's 185 HR 15.
    Good luck

Thank you Mike !. So Pirelli cinturato and not Michelin XWX were the standard? I´ve seen several XWX and just one car with Dunlops (racing) now likelly unvailable.

    If cituratoss, front I assume 185 R-15, but rears? 225 or 235 ?

Of those only Michelins seems to be available ($1800 set of 4) but maybe Pirelli has vintage tire?

I researched tires extensively when I had my 'goose'. I ended up at Roger Kraus Racing in Castro Valley, CA. They have a robust supply of Dunlop (and others) vintage racing tires. You can literally dial in the exact size tire you seek and they are often speed rated too. XWX option is nice and an excellent choice too. Go small on the spare - wheel and tire, as space is pretty poor already around that motor!

    Hi Gonzalo,
The rears were 235 R 15's with an option for 225's. The Michelin XWX are on them now as replacements are difficult. Avon has 15inch that fit and fill the rear wheel arch well, but not sure of size. On my original wheels I have Pirelli Scorpion's, however would not go with this option. As Mang says go with a small tyre on the spare to assist with fitting over the rear structure.
Is that the original Orange paint around the front area? What is your plan for 882?

    Mangusta owners,

Some time back I had a failure of the release cable on the driver side engine hatch. The ball end of the cable snapped off and the tension in the cable cause it to snap back into the conduit. I was left with no way to open the hatch. Fortunately, since it was on the driver side of the car, a friend was able to look down through the hatch window and guide me while I fished a stiff wire in to pull on the latches. It worked out okay, and I made up a new cable, but I have been thinking about the passenger side hatch ever since. Had that cable failed I would have been in a real fix as the fuel tank obscures the view of the latch.
Has anyone figured out a way to configure a safety cable or back-up wire to open the latches in the event the cabin lever fails or the cable breaks? I want to rig up something for the boot lid as well. I have some ideas but don't want to "reinvent the wheel". Thanks.

Darryl, some of the Pantera guys run a secondary cable (or large gauge fishing wire) with a ring on the end for the hood release and tuck that under the dash (see the PI forum)

I saw this happen one year to the best of show winning Bora at Concourso. Fortunately Al Burtoni was on hand and knew what to do. The Bora has a pair of inspection covers on the front side of the rear wheel wells. You pull those off and the bonnet can be released.

Darryl, our Espadas suffer from the same potential issue with that rear hatch glass. I don't know if you've ever had yours apart in that area but I can tell you it's one SOB to get at and disassemble even when the window has been released. I can't imagine how you would get to those latches with it closed?

Running a secondary set of cables in there looked very, very difficult.

The idea of a failure on that car terrifies me.

If your pull cable has a housing I would think you can snake it almost anywhere I have only fit these on Iso's

In an Espada there's very little space to conceal anything and the latches all need to be pulled to the left side of the car. I won't say it's impossible but when I was THERE for very different reasons another few weeks or more of delay just seemed unreasonable.

It won't should the worst ever happen ...

Ditto, although I doubt it went below 325. Current Hagerty high value is $290k. This car sold very quickly with asking price as above.

By the way, there is a yellow goose in the current Sports Car Market (8ma936) asking $349k

    Mike:

I am restoring the car, as close to perfection as possible, and plan to have it ready for the mexican "Concurso de Elegancia" in April. The car now has new floor (complete) and will be painted this coming week in the original "Rosso Aurora" (Orange). Assembly will be fun, as I am bound to find out how many parts were lost during Storage. Next week I´ll have photos aleady painted.

Parts that have been difficult to find are the tool set. It appear I am missing the door lock button chromed bezel.

I am Lucky since in Mexico we can manufacture almost anything, cheap. Lets see how it develops.

Gonzalo, would love to see your build if you are willing to share it with photographs here. Car porn for me and for others I am sure. Especially a Mangusta!

    Hi Gonzalo,

Great to hear you are restoring the car to original. Should look fantastic in orange!
Re the tools they are rare, but one of our Canadian Mangusta owners has made some replica tool kits and you see them on EBAY occasionally, not sure if he has any left? The door bezel should be easier to find as the push button Panteras have the same. Try Wilkinson. Good luck with the restoration and keep us updated.
