I forgot to share with my Fchat brethren. I was in Detroit week before last for training at Bosch, took the opportunity to have supper with Dick. PS: Also took time to visit RCR in nearby Fraser MI. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I thought you all might like pictures of what was a special order Mangusta for Deam Martins son, shown at Motorclassica 2016 in Melbourne Victoria Australia My apologies for the lack off and quality, I will try to track down some more. So Peter has finally finished Dino's car. There were a few mods done in California, wonder which were maintained which were reversed. The most special is the Fantuzi removable roof. Can't wait to see pics.
No special order just yet. Just wanted to meet Fran and see the shop, been thinking a street version of T70 Spyder would be a nice second toy. Nothing firm yet. BTW. Very nice clean shop. 1st rate all the way he must have had at least 20 projects on the floor. Worth the visit as pictures can't show scope and quality.
i believe the T70 in his shop is the real deal and not a tribute build. its a fun place to hang out with interesting projects in all the nooks and cranny
The Spyder has a frame that is steel mixed with alum and the fiberglass is of lesser quality than the newer projects there. I do not know and he was not clear if it is a real one or a continuation . I sat in it and it was very narrow at the hips ( would need to widen the tub) and there are challenges in making it a LHD.
If I recall correctly (I worked for Lola during the build of the continuation run), the T70 continuation models were MkIII coupes only.
The chassis were monocoques and may well have been the same for both spyder and coupe, but I'm sure the rollover structures were different between the two. Here's the brochure we produced for the continuation series: Image Unavailable, Please Login
I have decided to list my Mangusta for sale. It is a special car and a wonderful example. I have my sights set on another addition to the collection and so I must make room. Here are some pics from the shoot that was done. Image Unavailable, Please Login
You got some sort of creative financing available? REAL CREATIVE - as in I can't afford it but want it anyway Beautiful car!!!
Chris, Can you divulge the VIN ? I do not see it in Provamo.com, you need to add a note to the PI forum also. GLWS
Hi Dennis, the car is chassis # 858, which is on the registry. I recently brought the car back to its original silver / blue livery. I will have the dealer drop a note on the PI forum as well. Thanks.
