Wanted to post this here to the larger community to see if other people have taken different approaches. I'm sure @modificator has the answer but curious if anybody has done anything to alter routes, etc.

At the linkage install portion of my manual conversion. I have a late 08 MY car so there were already a few holes plugged, etc that made it different from the picture heavy install guide. At the cable routing stage though and the picture in the guide is from a 360. The F430 has a filter in this location which forces you to sort of kink one of the cables upward. Not a huge deal but was it like this from the factory? The slight bend makes the upper cable have more resistance when sliding back and forth. Should they go to the side of the filter? I noticed on NGSC video that his was about the same.

    Thoughts, feedback, etc?

    Thanks.

First picture is the 360 in the guide and second is how my cables are sitting right now

There is a bracket a little further back by about a foot and a half. I'll see if I can find the picture

Joe I think there's a bracket on the oil pump on oem manual shift cars. The f1 cars doesn't have that bracket. And from there forward to the car I don't remember. I can't find the pics and I'm not with my car

thank you for bringing this up.
I guess this could be why there is further adjustment needed for 4th and 5th gear (IIRC).

The "bend" adds slightly more resistance and length to the route of the cable compared to the 360.

Not mine but my mechanic’s although my OCD does get the best of me sometimes. He even turned the clamps on my exhaust connectors because he noticed the threads were oriented in a way that was allowing moisture to drip down on them, making them rust slightly.

Great pics. You can see the rubber grommet that the cables slide thru at the rear wall. Then the rubber/metal bracket, then the metal bracket at the pump which is not on a f1 car. I suppose something could be made for that. I can't see it on any diagrams

Mechanic ended up replicating the factory setup perfectly. Cables are as close to natural as you can get so no resistance in the motion.
