I bought my 599 with the intention of doing a manual conversion. One thing that still bothers me on the converted cars is that the side panels around the shifter are different on a manual car - they tend to contour the lines of the shifter vs. being flat. Has anyone looked into either buying the side panels from Ferrari or modifying F1 panels to resemble the manual panels? I can’t find the Ferrari part numbers.

I would say it’s worth a couple of grand retail and probably would cost under a grand to realize the “conversion”. Thoughts?

Yeah, there are a couple of guys I know making these parts in a "factory correct" way. That is to say with the correct side panels and correct layout of the upper console switches etc. You obviously need both parts to work together.

Europsares lists them as available, a little under 2K.

Looks like that is more a function of the shape of the leather than the height of the side panel.

You are right Taz, in the OEM cars the leather meets closer to the top.

When you look at the F1 cars, you can see why they add these bigger carbon boxes as it fits into the gap left behind.
