The only comparable situation I can think of in Ferrari history was Daytona Spiders. They couldn't give them away when new but convertibles came back in style in later and lots of coupes were converted. The quality varied. As I recall, Straman conversions were well regarded and sold for a premium to coupes. However, original spiders were/are worth many times more than a conversion. Will 430s follow the same path? Since I have owned a 3 pedal 430 from new, I hope so!

Your point about chopped Daytona's is well taken. If they are more valuable than original GTB's, so be it. There are a few examples where modified Ferrari's do ok in the market.
