A few nostalgic photos from about 1979-1983.......F1 car is Scheckter's 1979 Championship winner........Lusso is chassis 4655GT. 275 GTB is chassis 6931 GT and in 1980 had only done 3000 miles......... Happy days...... PS...The dog's name was Hector who use to come to work with me on Saturdays.

This F1 car went on a tour of all the Ferrari importers around the world......I sat in it once and had to be hauled out by two of the cleaners as I got totally stuck. F1 drivers were svelte even in those days.

Use to have the office on the opposite corner of that roundabout. That was in the early 90s - most of Marranello Concessionares was on the industrial estate by then.

Sadly the Maranello race program was history by the time I joined the company. I first met the Colonel in the mid 1970's. I think it was 1973 that they last competed at Le Mans in the 365 GTB/4. I love 0854. You are so fortunate to own it.

    Nice pics Paul!

They bring back memories from when I used to snoop around the place as a kid whenever I was down south.

I don't suppose you have any pictures of my Daytona from those days?

The Colonel apparently ran it himself for a few months in 1971 and it was restored by Mike Osgood at Maranello Concessionaires in 1989. I have lots of invoices from there in the file so it would have been in and out of the place regularly for years.

The car was/is a Dino blue coupe, originally registered FPA 133J then DMR 1 and then ECH 26J until around 1990 when it was re-registered MRD 514J which it still has.

Is this in Egham? I visited the place in 2003 but I wasn't aware of the importance of it...

Old pics like these are always so cool. I find it hard to believe they are so rare given the cars being photo'ed.

    Great contribution Paul

Yes, Egham in Surrey. Tower Garage is just outside the town centre on one corner of a roundabout and bordering a short stretch of dual carriageway down to the M25.

Talacrest used to be in a showroom by the railway crossing, but I haven't been there for years so I don't know if they still are.
