David Burch for the useless annoying drooping sun visor repair. GTS Bruce
And I've got Dave and John's MSW Poor Man's Manettino. I'm one of ten lucky owners in the world who has one! . Image Unavailable, Please Login
And let's not forget the MSW Front Lift Kit... [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PRNtAFfA_l4[/ame] [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV_rd4VjI2s[/ame]
Great work from great minds. We are all benefit from the skunkworks. I particularly like the shock/dampener fix.
Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Dave & I are still beavering away on stuff in our spare time, but unfortunately we haven't had much of that lately. Dave keeps getting dragged around golf courses all over the world by his lovely wife, and for myself, I've been pretty consumed with a day job, and (re)building my 550's engine. This rebuild has been a slow, painstaking process as I've had to farm the head & block work out to specialists, and of course, they work at their own pace and schedules, which is not always as quickly as we'd like. However, I'm really pleased to share some good news on the block, which has now been machined and had its Darton MID liners installed by Steve Demirjian of Race Engine Development (Steve also does Nick's Forza big bore V8's). The block will now be finish bored/honed to 92mm (stock is 88mm) to give a new displacement of 5.98 liters; I'll share more as the work progresses, but am really looking forward to getting the block back and moving into the reassembly phase and getting this puppy up on the engine dyno. I'm also considering adding some new signage on the rear of the car : Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Besides the Skunkworks hardware, the free advice from you John has been priceless to me...always willing to help. Thanks
I got the steering ECU from him and its just an amazing difference from the stock version and wanted to say thank you. Steve in NY
I got the steering ECU from John as well and have been really happy with hit, transforms the car into a more sporty feel (the original ECU produced too light a steering feel, almost American Car like, which I did not enjoy). Aside from that I've added Carbonio Carbon Fibre paddles which have a competition feel and are longer so easier to change up or down (helps that my 575 came with the Carbon Fibre interior package which this matches perfectly). My car came with Tubi's, so no need to add anything to enhance the sound, but since lowering my car 1" in front with added camber, and 2+1/2" in the rear, the sound seems to have been enhanced even more, which I love. I decided to lower it and add spacers rather than give up my 18" 3 piece Barchetta riims (which were offered as an option on my 2002 model), to enhance the look and handling of my 575, which it has certainly done. I wish MSW would print an update on what upgrades they offer at this time because its been a while since I communicated with them and would like to know if there is anything else I can add to my 575 to enhance it???
I've added front and rear parking cameras that interface wirelessly with my hard mounted Garmin Nuvi GPS. Now I can see the ground about six to eight inches from the bumpers. Saves running over those parking strips and hitting the front splitter. For you 575 guys a 599 auto dimming electrochromatic rear view mirror is a nice enhancement. Easy to wire to the dome light and if you mount it upside down you get a better angle for seeing out the rear window over the third brake light housing.
Love the work you guys are doing and sharing with us. I'd really like to have a dimming rearview mirror for my 550, I'm so used to it for so many years in other cars that I feel like everybody behind my 550 has their high beams on. Just not sure how easy it is to find one compatible with the mounting button for 550 mirror.
I'm looking forward to that, John. Include the MSW logo as part of your rear 6.0L plate. Barry . Image Unavailable, Please Login
That will have to wait awhile, right now I'm working on installing colored LEDs inside the fenders to shine on the wheels. I'm working on a strobe system that I can control to vary the strobe effect so it will lag just a little bit behind the wheel rotation and give the overall effect of the Maranello "moonwalking" à la Michael Jackson.
I was actually hoping you guys would have an updated summary of all the MSW projects you offer in one concise document much like the document that John provided me with when I purchased the Steering ECU (attached), so that its clear. Clyde Image Unavailable, Please Login
He's not joking, Clyde. Have you ever seen the stroboscopic effect of street lights on wheels at night? It's called the "Wagon Wheel Effect..." [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaiIZI1oe40[/ame] Dave will probably tie in the strobe lights to the speedometer for the right effect.
Can't say that I have, but it sounds like something more appropriate for a Lamborghini than a Ferrari Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
