Maranello are not disappearing! Let me share my experience Not plenty on the market, but around 40 to 50 cars for in EU right now, which is not a lot but quite significant. Unfortunately, a lot of cars with high mileage or not in very good condition. If the market is becoming less crazy, a good car, with a good history and a reasonable mileage is keeping a high value, and is attractive. To illustrate what I said above, I sold my 1999 Maranello (Titanium+Cuoio), with a documented history, in very good condition, with around 43,000Kms at €118K, it was only 2 months ago. This is a real transaction, not just a price on a car for sale, it give you a good flavor of the market
Actually my barber told me that my Maranello makes me look like James Bond 😀 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Darius, Maranello's a very versatile car .... is car for true gentlemen, but also for very sporting man .... and for the tire repairer! Picures are from 2004 in Germany, i think all to recognize who is at drive? ... We hope that he will become in good health early the big S. Sorry guys, this is a stupid action for the crowd. A 550/575 do not need something like this. Just my 2 cents. Daniel
Sorry Daniel, but in the two pictures inside the red HGTC is Michael Schumacher (that I called the big S, and you can see clearly in first picture) and is on a track in Germany on 2004 in a Ferrari day, it was in this car because 2004 was the year of presentation of HGTC .... (for example this year in Mugello for Ferrari day it was the tdf..) I think those are a particular pictures because are from Michael that unfortunately now is not in good condition ....... Best Regards Fabio
Daniel- Plus you can see the crowd is loving it. And guess what? Michael did not have to pay for the next set of P Zero Corsas that came on HGTCs.
Fabio I saw that its M. Schuhmacher. With greatest respect, it was not my intention to insult Michael Schuhmacher ! I only don't like such a rough handling with these kind of cars. A light drift outside a corner is OK, but burnouts constantly at the rev limiter is stress for the material. Daniel
Daniel, my opinion as well. But at that time he was, imho, forced to give the tifosi a spectacular show. Shoudn't be done nowadays by a serious owner/collector. At that time, it was just the most powerfull V12 Ferrari so the crowd at a F1 race expected that.... Interestingly, no one expect that actually from a 456/Maranello owner, the cars are (compared to some other brands and later Ferraris) to serious and elegant. Just like an elegant italian or an handcrafted suit from Seville Row. Just for connoiseurs and a gentlemans choice.... Saluti, Jürgen
Daniel, I never thought you want to insult Michael Schumacher... Only I thought that you don't seen M.S. in the pictures. I posted the two pictures because for me are particulars, are of the great maranello's, driven by the great Shummy .... It was a great event on 2004 .... Best regards Fabio
Some details of the event and some more images available here (if you scroll down at least half way). FERRARI Racingdays Germany, Nuerburgring, 3-5 September 2004 ThePuristS.com Girard-Perregaux Forum - Ferrari Racing Days, Germany, 3-5/9/2004
Guys, i agree with all of you that burnout with the Maranello is not the thing to find .... I in first don'want! But you don't think that a burnout induce in the Maranello stresses that could demage the mechanical system .... Just for clarity, the gearbox and cluthc are designed for the 60 Kgm torque of the engine .... during burnout you have a low friction factor from tyre to road in front to the normal condition, you have only more smoke ..... For example during a big acceleration from 100 km/h you generate more stress .... Another big stress is generate by the driver that don't is able to do the clutch in a good way .... Kindly Fabio
Fabio, you're surely right, just strange for some of us to see the car used like that☺. Times changed as well... Buona notte, Jürgen
Not sure about that. My Datsun Cherry is not capable of generating smoke (other than from the exhaust).
Yes. Maybe a Cifonelli suit. The most elegant of all. Devastatingly understated. And the connoisseur's choice.
Ups, it wasn't my intention, to cause such a discussion. Your explanation about stress is logical and comprehensible, Fabio. Gives a peace of conscience for light drifts out of tight curves. Thanks. I think this video, i saw some years ago, is the reason for my distaste against burnouts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Jabuxs6ZC4 What happened to the 456 ? Am i right that the cooling system was overheated and "exploded" under the pressure ? Daniel
Yes that looks like a burst coolant hose. Cheers, Bernhard P.S.: These burnouts are a little bit more spectacular and show that the mechanical stress with burnouts is not completely irrelevant [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rdbMRwEpmxg[/ame]
Daniel , don't worry, i'm not angry, we are only spoke .... Yes, the cooling system was overheated and "exploded" under the pressure, or maybe for a defect in assembly or in hose material ... Probably you know following videos, those are (for me) nice and not too heavy for cars.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LGobsAf-fto https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UhJCOHVX760 good vision ... Fabio
Fabio, in your first video, maybe I am wrong, but it seems that the distance between 575 and the 550 does not increase with time, but came up mainly in the first sectors. Perhaps this is just wishful thinking of me as a 550 owner .
