Tomorrow will be the 80th anniversary of the first flight of the Spitfire prototype, K5054. It still looks so right to my eye. Rgds
Wow! Thanks for that. +1 on its looks. It remains one of the best looking birds ever built to my eyes too. Certainly a perfect example of the 'if it looks right, it probably is right ' adage. Throw in the sound of that Merlin engine, & it remains a true icon to this day. It was 'The Battle of Britain' movie where Hitler asks his Air Marshal 'what do you need?'
