    Hoping the weather holds :)

3 guys have expressed an interest in a North Bay drive so I thought I'd post something. A few options depending on where people are coming from

If some interest from SF or Southbay then may keep it southerly by including Hwy 1 from Tam Junction to Stinson (newly surfaced but very twisty) and heading back along Panoramic or going north to Pt. Reyes and heading back along Sir Francis Drake.

If mostly Marin and Northbay then we could venture north by taking Lucas Valley Road out to Pt Reyes and head north to Bodega and back through Two Rocks and Petaluma (more open faster roads than around Stinson)

    Reply with interest.

And of course fellow "North Bay'ers", we owe the Santana Row crew a visit at some point so we need to coordinate that too.

ETG just did a northbay tour, up 1 all the way past marshall and down into the sonoma valley wine country, it was incredible. Great time of year to do this, the color and the lighting was amazing.

I'm in the city, but I'll go wherever. Always interested in finding some new roads in NorCal! The Hwy1 strip is really nice, especially by Jenner, but I would love to find some new stomping grounds, especially higher speed corners. Highway 128 anyone? Maybe all the way up to 36? Lots of enforcement in the summer, but not now.

Evwer heard of the "Sunday morning ride" . Starts at 8am at the Tam Valley Junction, and they go to Pt. Reyes. The ride was started in the 60s by some racers, and it was there when there wasn't a race. The pace is usually very, very quick for those in the front, an average of 80 - 90 mph from Tam Junction to Stinston Beach (Try that in your Ferrari). Somehow they seem to attract quite a few CHP and similar types. In my humble opinion, Sunday am to the beach isn't the smartest idea for a car drive. Think about Saturday, or if you insist upon Sunday, make it very, very early, say 7am or so.

+1 if the weather is good. It should be fun. I did the one lap of Marin with the other car club and found the back country was amazing.

Saturdays are out for me unfortunately. Makes a case for LV Road out to Pt Reyes and then North from there then.

You might want to think about taking Lucas Valley Road out to Pt. Reyes, with a meet up time at say 8am. Would put you in a place where the CHP & friends won't be (they'll be looking for the bikes coming from the other direction), and it's a pretty neat drive.

I've got a meeting on Sunday, so I'm probably not going to make it then. Be careful, and make sure that the car in front has a valentine, and you've got radio contact, so if there is some CHP around, nobody gets a ticket. They will take you away, if they catch you over 100mph, so be very careful. Have a great ride.

Well the weather forecast is okay for Sunday.

I'm thinking of meeting at the parking lot in Corte Madera just off the freeway and that gives us north or south options depending on preferences.

Anybody got a preference for time, early (7am) or late (10-11am) or somewhere in between?

I'm assuming friends or significant others are okay (as passengers, not bringing other cars).

Drop me a pm; I'll make most of the final confirmations via that means rather than publicly here.

    Cheers, Laurence

Forecast seems to be holding nicely for Sunday. Corte Madera sounds good. I suggest we go north from there, we should start early(ish). 8:00 am? Anyone know a good coffee shop with parking in the area?

There is a Peets across 101 just before the Aston dealership and across from the Corte Madera shops on the West side of the freeway.

Small parking lot but plenty of parking around there. 8am sound okay for everyone?

Hope to see you tomorrow. Hopefully Josh is coming to take some pics and there's a few folks confirmed, 430's, 360's, GT3's etc.

I was hoping to have the headgasket back on but it looks like it is not going to be.

Hi Laurence, even my BMW (which I've taken on drives, makes a good chase car with perimeter strobes and PA/firetruck horn!) is sick with a leaking intake boot.

I'm rolling my F350 dually crewcab in the city tonight! Good thing it also has a firetruck horn and full lightbar...

Well what a morning. Thanks to everyone who showed up. We had a lovely day for a nice drive out to Stinson, North to Pt Reyes for breakfast then East around the Reservoir to Nicasio and back along Lucas Valley Road. We took turns leading (I must say it's nerve wracking with a Murcielago in front and a F430 Spider behind, not to mention a GT3 RS leading the way at a brisk pace). It was great to meet everyone, plus a whole bunch more people who stopped every time we did for pictures and a chat.

More pics to follow when we find a place to host them.

Hope to see you all again soon.

    Regards, Laurence

What a great drive. It was a real pleasure meeting everyone and driving with you all. Couldn't have picked a better December day. Can't wait to see all the photos.

What a fun drive indeed. My old gal needs to push very hard in order to keep up with this group.
Thanks Lawrance for organizing this event.
