I read the story on him first written in 'California' Magazine in 1988.
This was when he was still in high school. I think I still have that magazine.

His dad did to him basically what we envision Russia doing to their athletes in the 50's and 60's, his entire life, every second of the day, was managed.
His dad was doing stretching excercises with him when he was one or two years old, he never had white sugar until he got to college, he basically was not allowed to be a kid.

I feel very badly for him, I cannot blame him for what he did (rebel), some of it is his fault, but after you see how he was brought up, it's scary.

Yep. IIRC I first heard of him around the same time you did. Maybe on ESPN's Scholastic Sports America (I loved that show).

...Some of Todd's work was featured in the new ESPN documentary, "The Marinovich Project" ... and T.M. says the exposure is having an insane impact on his business, "Orders are pouring in for the prints."

Todd tells us the main piece of art featured in the doc is called, "The Alchemist" ... which is based on himself. "It's the most sought after print," Todd explains ... "I'm only making 100 of them and I'm almost sold out."...
