well, a broken bone normally heals between 2-3 months, so lucky he didn't have this accident around December.

For some reason I read Tasmania as Tanzania and I was trying to figure out what Mark Webber was doing in Africa. Hope Mark is alright, he seems like a pretty good guy.

a broken leg will take a lot of rehab so in addition to 6-8 weeks of healing he'll need another 2-3 months of rehab depending on the location and severity of the break. fortunately he will be back and be just fine, this will just be a rough 4 months for him. best to him hope he gets better soon

He should be ok by next season, but might fall behind a bit in testing. The rigorous training in F1 could help his recovery.
The thread title was a bit misleading though.

Damn. Luckely its during the off season, he'll miss a few practise sessions for sure but also he'll be out of action fitness wise also.

I wonder how they'll deal with this on Top Gear, unless they filmed all the Stig segments already.

The thread title is all that was initially known - the more limited nature of the injury was revealed later. Hopefully his fitness and best possible care will get him to the starting line in the best possible condition!!

    Edit: missed that p2 post!!

Yeah thread title made it seem that he had a car accident ... not true, he had a bicycle accident that involved a car.

He's an Aussie he will be fine.
