How likely would you be to go on the trip from September 18-21?

  1. 90-100% sure I would go, I can't resist a fun trip! :D

  2. 60-90% sure I would go, I like to have fun when work / family allow. :)

  3. 30-60% sure I would go, I rarely get to have fun. :(

  4. I'm just building my post count, I really don't like fun... ;)

EVERYONE...............BT and I are trying to finalize accomodations, and one of the items that will decide where we stay is HOW MANY PEOPLE ARE GOING!!!!

We have had a lot of people say they want to go, but, so far, a smaller list of who has really committed to going. IF YOU PLAN TO GO, PLEASE LET ME KNOW BY MONDAY OF NEXT WEEK, SO WE CAN ARRANGE ACCOMODATIONS ACCORDINGLY.

    Thanks!

Fred, I have been silent about this trip, but would love to go. I spoke about doing this with Robert a while back. It's good to see you have taken control. I have a court date in late Sept., but I hope it doesn't land on these dates. If it doesn't, I will probably need accomodations only. I will either drive up or trailer the car myself. Will let you know by Monday.

I believe there are 4 planning on trucking cars up, and I will be towing or driving my own car, for a total of 5. My father in law may drive his Corvette up, and Rich may drive or trailer a car up which would give us 7 that I know of maximum.

For anyone who had a conflict with the weekend of 9/18-9/21, a scheduling conflict has come up for one of the participants for the weekend we had planned in September. SO, if we bump it out to the first weekend in October (10/2 until 10/5), does that allow other people to go too???

Okay, so then I'm going to the mountains the week of October 2 - October 5 (and maybe get there a few days early). Works for me, it should be cooler then, and I enjoy the driving when the weather is 40-55 degrees the most!

Spoke w/ Will today. That weekend is the "Road Atlanta" weekend, and he will be doing his part for that event. Is that still ok???

It is okay with me. I can stay away form Road Atlanta in the driving that I would plan on.
Dinner / breakfast with Will could be worked out, I'm sure. One thing to consider is that October 6th is Labor Day, so there will likely be more people taking a long weekend vacation at that particular time.
The next week, October 9th is Yom Kippur (don't know if I spoelled it right), but something else to consider. I'm good to go for the first week of October. The Ginetta is being cut up right now to get a new gas tank fitted.

:) you' have to learn how to drive first :D

    Skip Barber speed course $3600
    SSF trip to Atlanta $2000
driving the Ferrari to the track $35
renting a pro-race car for the weekend of Petit LeMans $45,000
sticking the car into the wall in turn 1 in lap 1 priceless.

for everything else there is a first born

    -1 billion.

It sounds like more fun to not participate, and to stay as far away from the crowds as possible.
You can represent on my behalf, and I'll tell you how the mountains were!

Unless you take Martin's advice, stay away from RA that weekend...

The race is better watched on SPEED unless you have VIP accomodations; not for any other reason than it will be big crowds, the track is a bi**h to walk (some serious steep hills in the infield), the "culture" in the campsites can be uuhhh... interesting (similar to Sebring), and the Ferrari corral is by invitation only. Unless you're behind the wheel on the track at the drop of the flag you're better off watching it on TV.

    Serious though,
if Will can get you tickets and some sort of accomodations for watching the race you'd have a great time. Road Atlanta is a great track to drive. Under the bridge and holding the steering wheel with one hand and your balls with the other.... The view from the car is intense. The tricks your mind play with you while you are approaching that turn is scary.

Probably one of the best places to watch would be right before the down esses heading towards the bridge. Lots of passing and lots of mistakes there.
