Another beautiful investment grade 575 on Bring a Trailer today. We have seen driver mile 575’s in a somewhat tight range and the investment grade options are well above and who knows where when the right bidders are “in the room” (which is what happened today WOW).

It continues to surprise me when people are buying on BaT vs other private cars. On another thread Taz mentioned the ?”Ultimate”? optioned 575 at Merlin, I’d call that a really nice car……. I’d personally buy the 12k mi Merlin Argento at $126 (which still seems super high) over this BaT Rosso…..these last 2 bidders on the car must have really wanted a Rosso Corsa?

BANANAS that buyer posted after the auction that he also has a Superamerica 6MT HGTC......this guys collection is fierce.

Oh and if it weren't exciting enough he also notes he has a TDF 2005 575 6MT w. HGTC.

If this buyer isn't on the forum we need him to be so we can all go tour his collection

agree that he would be an asset to the forum if he's not already here, I was looking at his purchase history and comments and he's very a very diversified collector, not just F cars, some amazing MB'S and P-cars on the surface. one can only imagine what is beneath the surface.

I really hope some of these immensely wealthy people that are building or adding to big collections at some point open museums rather than sell and spread to the wind. I worked in Boulder CO for awhile and there is a guy at the time that allowed private entrance to his 300 some diverse collection (kinda like Leno) and it was really amazing. Hopefully that guy (and others like him) will ultimately open these monster warehouse collections to the public.

Its funny how so many single guys have better collections than the museum in Reno (as just one example).

I wonder if his TDF HGTC coupe is our old friend “CanadianFerrarista” from up North?

That (stunning) car has full Cuoio interior, which would align with today’s 575 purchase and his SA in terms single color interiors (although mixing it up with Cuoio vs beige F1 coupe and SA).

I think we know a little too much about these cars...

The deep diving I've done here on the forum and then on the net in general and then having Nathan's book and registry......my wife might book me into a "help-group".

The fact this guy also at one point owned one of the other three....the R/C SA 6MT with HGTC is just amazing.

Some interesting bidding and some trolling today over on BaT.

It's unfortunate because the car being sold looked lovely and was in a rare shade of "out of range" red.

The short version is there were "normal bids" up to $91,500 with the car obviously still poised to run up and through the BaT average and then someone new to that platform monkeyed with the process and threw out a bid of $127,427 which just smells weird. Then that one ghost ran up the guy that won the car....just the ghost and one other guy all the way from $131k to $155k. Our fellow friend @Maranello993 placed a strong bid. This result seemed quite robust.....

This auction was an example for buyers of why BaT really is not awesome since there are some guys where $155k is peanuts. If you are a seller with a clean, no questions car then this is an example why BaT is absolutely amazing.

Its almost shocking to me that Brian's EZ2SPD's R/Corsa with luggage ended somewhat close to this car.

I accidently saw this car on Bat and was sorely tempted to join the fray. The 550- 599 line of cars is bargain priced for what you get. I was thinking of buying a Berlinetta Boxer, and just thought I 'd see what was on BAT. At HALF the price of a BBi, this car checks ALL the boxes. What a beautiful car.

The price came in higher than I expected, but I didn't think it was a crazy price. Stunning color, good options, apparently well-cared for. I think the Rossa Monza did the trick. I had never seen a Maranello in that color and it definitely tugged at my heart strings!

It’s cute how BaT and eBay are sometimes for no-questions-garage queens or these other cars with deferred maintenance, branded titles and situations where a PPI should be mandatory but there isn’t the time or the sellers simply don’t want PPI’s done.

PPI money spent is the best money spent

I get it that the car you shared is a fully serviced '04....but its amazing to me how values are all over the place for 575's.

This 2002 10k mile car we discussed recently that sold on BaT wasn't a basketcase by any definition and hammered at $81k. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2002-ferrari-575m-maranello-17/

That $140 car with 7k miles was a mindblower. It continues to be clear that very wealthy guys that are building collections are voting with their wallets in a big way on "investment grade" Maranello's

If a 2004 575M was around 230.000 dollar new, and is still as new, then 140.000 is not at all expencive.

Agreed. Heck maybe $200k isn't expensive if its rare and low miles and in perfect shape.

The ultra wealthy decide what the right price is on the investment grade cars.....for many of these buyers these prices are not "material" amounts of money. I'm comfortable knowing I'm never going to be that kind of buyer.

This 550 with salvage due to alleged electrical ended this morning on the "Garage Dream Auctions" website.
Car was listed as a classified on Ebay at $105k.
Photos at least looked great (I personally really like this color combo).
Car alleged to run very well and video was provided.

Not being a wisenheimer....maybe someone can explain why this sold for $85,900 after being available for MONTHS (many months) at $82k?

The reserve on this car seems rather high for a salvage title. Figure the car is worth $110-120k with a clean title, discount that by 40% for the salvage and figure you got to be ready to drop some fairly big bucks into it.

I see the seller is posting a buy it now price at $102k. FWIW, there is that 550 at the Audi dealer in Kentucky that also lacks documentation and probably needs some TLC, but it has a clean title and fewer miles at $104k.
