This is not the first result in this price range. A nearly identical car sold last month at RM in Scottsdale for a hammer price of $110k. I don't know who did that conversion.

    @wrgray68

Here is the one you are referencing....RM Scottsdale 2025.....it was Exoticars.....

I forgot we talked about the one you are referencing briefly here.... https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/149986043/

    SOLD $123,200
    +) ZFFBV55A620127767 and Assembly 44884
+) Argento over nero with contrasting white stiching; leather shelf with contrasting stitching.
    +) 16,959 miles and $40k in receipts
    +) 127767

    https://rmsothebys.com/auctions/az25/lots/r0013-2002-ferrari-575m-maranello/

That one was WAY too low for an Exoticars conversion....even on a lightly optioned 2002.....that car at that price was a no-brainer? Look at the OEM gate.....

Had today's seller chosen the path of disclosure rather than one of silence with regard to several important questions, I believe this car would have closed higher than it did – even if the answers weren't fully positive. In a situation like this one must "buy the seller" as much as the car. Proper representation of the vehicle as it sits goes a long way.

Given all that has transpired, all the drama, all the (rightful) rampant speculation pouring in to fill the information void…I can’t blame anyone for not taking a chance on one of these cars. Hopefully this doesn’t turn into “There goes Chupa being a curmudgeon again”, but…I wouldn’t touch one with a 50 meter cattle prod, especially if it is, in fact, a cable. I had a cable actuated Ferrari transmission for ten years and, while it was fine most of the time, it did not shift nearly as well as the 575 factory setup. Not dying to go back, even if it was part of the charm of that particular car. I feel like straying too far from the original intent is losing the path completely and steering into “something you have to make excuses for” territory.

I concur with the idea of procuring a different setup, and also agree that $110k is all the $. That said, the car looks nice overall and I do hope the seller is successful in locating the right buyer. It is still a rare, special, beautiful car that maybe just needs some pointing up.

The green car was a bit unfortunate, but I think until the buying pool can effectively differentiate between the value of a well-executed conversion and “the drama”, that’s what we will see. I also don’t care, to be honest. My car is a stitch. :)

Anyone have pictures or description of the cable shift mechanism? I'm having trouble even imagining how this is even setup.

The mechanic who did the conversion on my 575 said the kit came with a shift rod.
He also noted that 360/430 conversion kits tended to come with a cable shifter.
The kit parts for my car were beautiful.
Way cleaner and neater than the factory parts.
The only thing is the missing “horsey” on the shift gate. The anxiety is truly crippling!

The factory shift gate is readily available second hand; There is one for under 1500USD on ebay as we speak (no affiliation).
Personally I dont like the horse as it becomes too logo heavy in the interior, particularly if you have the redesigned/Superamerica vents. I still want an OEM shift pattern gate (PN 177023). They used to be more commonly available as buyers favored the horse version but now all are NLA. :(

Great car. All I would want to know is how exactly it has been stored/kept because it is obviously coming completely apart and it would be great to inspect up close. Is this equal to a well kept driver ?

Have not seen this one posted, maybe it’s waiting to go on BAT. 2004 Black on Tan with FHP and 19” rims, claims to be an all original parts conversion, and has a full Fabio exhaust. From Terry’s list, it would seem that this one missed the 52xxx assembly number and those updates, but otherwise a pretty reasonable asking price if you just want a turn key converted 575 to drive.

That one has been available for some time and it’s good they are lowering the price.

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/149738342/

Nice car but it’s surprising how “low” the conversions have cleared the market. Specifically Kevins Green one on BaT at $155k https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2002-ferrari-575m-maranello-41/. I thought I recalled his did have a 550 trans.

Should tbis black GTO conversion be higher….and if so how much? I thought at the time Kevins should have been $200k but the EAG cars have definitely pulled things down.

for posterity ZFFBV55A540134695 price now $190k.

I’m eternally skeptical of super low mileage examples. Even with recent “full” service, there are a number of things that could become problematic if they have not been investigated.

    No question.

I am considering having FOW do a few things to my car for which I cannot seem to find a local shop. When I mentioned some post-conversion items, the service manager - and this is no statement against him, he has always been knowledgeable and very helpful - asked, “Oh, did you do an EAG kit?” I rather forcefully responded “No, OEM!”

I think that EAG’s initial high visibility and subsequent infamy, for lack of a better term, put them front-of-mind when it comes to converted cars. Rather unfortunate, and it will likely take some time to separate in the minds of people who are not as aware of the differences as the folks in this group are.

Dumb question - what was the OEM shift knob only polished finish or available in both polished and matte finish?

There is only one part number for a large number of models, but who knows how many subcontractors Ferrari used and how they finished them? The ones I have seen were polished.

Newbie to the 550/575's. Going to look at one Sunday. 575M F1 that is.

Been reading this thread backwards the last few nights. Seems some folks don't mind the F1 in the 575, especially when tuned by "Trev" I think I've read.

So many questions I'd love to ask all you long time experienced folks but won't hijack the thread.

Basically I want another Classic Fcar someday (Owned an 85 308GTS QV) but sold on BAT a few years ago. I wanted a TR but I'm not a small guy and don't fit in them very well.
Going to basically have to sell my 2017 911 Turbo S to fund whatever I purchase.

Yes, I'd Love a Manual conversion (or to convert an F1 if I purchased) but I think I could enjoy the F1 for a while since my Turbo S is PDK, I'm used to paddles for that ride. I have two other 6MT cars for days when I want to row gears.

We drive our cars!!! Frequently do 200-500 mile days in the mountains when we decide to go out for the day. Doing this in a 575M F1 would be no different. I'm am barking up the wrong tree here or will these handle that kind of duty?? Biggest ask from y'all also is, How's the AC in these?? I'm extremely hot natured and HAVE to have good working AC.

Thanks folks! Sorry for the newbie hijack. PM's are fine as well.

The 575 is the most underrated and undervalued V12 coupe. You will be fine but try one first and see if it’s a fit for you.

As long as proper care has been taken and all maintenance has been kept up with, reliability is not really high on the list of concerns with 575s. I’ve done some trips in my 575 and have never been the least bit concerned about a breakdown. Caveat - I am the guy who takes his cars in yearly and says, “Do it.” I’m not one for “I’ll get around to it” when it comes to mechanicals.

The AC is quite good and a HUGE improvement over older Ferrari units and the later generation air-cooled Porsches I’ve owned. Very cold in comparison.

    We'll see tmrw. Thank you!

Having the ability to do that with maintenance is a blessing I'm sure with these types of older cars. The one I'm looking at had a very high priced bill over the last year. I assume due to low miles and deferred maintenance.

    Thanks for the info!!

    David,
One of the King of Miles for a 575 is @Clyde Romero you should read his thread. He had driven his TR all over and also crushed tons of miles all over in his 575. I’ve not met him but he was a military pilot so those guys are never “Midwest sized”.

I don’t miss many meals AND I’ve never done more than a 200 mile day in my 550 but it’s not uncomfortable.

The later the model year 575 the better…. @tazandjan has historically called out how the most evolution was evidenced by very late 2003 and ‘04/05 cars after Assembly #52556

I have long obsessed about doing a conversion…..but I think my 550 is the best ;-) so silly to have two Maranellos. I think if you have scratched the itch with the 308QV (also love that car) then a late 575 with the Trev Tune would be delightful.

Hope you get one and report back in with us.

I love the hunt and I hope it goes well!

No point in being vague about I guess. This is the car. Happens to be within an hour and a half of me.
You pro's can have a look and maybe guide me to a reasonable bid / buy ?
