it looks like asking prices have come down 15-20k since the summer and a lot less of them are moving. I was thinking of selling my QV in the spring but I may have to wait a while for the market to rebound so i can jump to a 360.

It's probably hitting everybody. I bet the 360 guys are having the same issue. I bet you could find somebody to trade with on here....

I sold mine in about a week. Picked up a 355. Your best bet is throw it up and see if the right buyer finds it at the right time.

Ps. I got very close to my asking price which was over 80k.

sure. its May 1985 US GTS with 38k. It came to me in 2010 as an all original super clean California car. I could write paragraphs on its condition and rolling restoration.

Fantastic car! Ours is at 45 clicks on the odometer. Your selling price is reassuring that they have not come off if any since the late summer.

Seems to be the asking prices have come down, not so much the selling prices .... Think it's more stabilized now that the last 24 months of ads where prices kept shooting up.

Legendary motor cars sold an 84, Red on tan gts. Ok looking, not sure of the mileage, interior doesn't seem that nice. It sold 3 days after I got the Hemmings listing. I called them and they said it went for full price $69,500 US, I believe.

Odd that dealer's "Low Mileage" claim was not quantified in the ad and that the only photo showing the odometer was out of focus.

With the prices going up, a lot more sellers came out for the 3x8's unlike the 550's. Prices high and hardly anyone is selling.

I imagine a lot of marginal cars came out from under the piles of stuff stored on them, and went up for sale when prices started moving up.

Just because a #1 condition, original or restored car sold for $120K, doesn't mean every car with wrong interior, rust, neglected motor, mismatched motor numbers etc, etc will get anywhere near that price, like a lot of owners of those cars, think it will.

As a side note, I also see a lot more threads on getting correct parts, manual jackets and stuff, now that prices are up, and i suspect fewer people are hacking them up to put V12s, 360 motors, SBC motors and roll bars for track use, in them.

Exactly! The only thing that has actually moved recently in the eBay arena for 3x8 cars are rollers, daily drivers, and rough cars in the 50,000-70,000 mileage range with prices from about $42,000 to less than $65,000.

this is all great info. I haven't been following the market lately because I had no reason to. I know they went on a run for a while earlier this year. I'll decide the fate of my sale in the spring after the major+ and a drive in a 360.

ebay is probably the last place i would look for a car. Probably better than Craigslist, but not much

Every ebay car i looked at (not f cars as i wasn't looking for one, but collectible cars), maybe 10-12 different cars before i decided not to waste my time, had serious, covered up issues, bondoed over rotted frames, quick cave and pave on body rust, motor problems, incorrect stuff, cobbled together fixes, bad body repairs, and it was all advertised as pristine, perfect, original, , etc, etc, etc.

Some of the cars that go thru BJ are not much better, lots of lipstick on pigs. A soft 'fridge magnet can tell you a lot.

What you pay is what you get. I don't think prices have come down. This time of the year car sales in general are down. A clean low mileage 308 with all service records will demand higher price any way you slice it. If you want to get more for your 308 just wait until spring time. In general, the 308s are going to appreciate more than the 360s. Also don't forget that 360s prices will be effected from the new 488s.My 2 cents.

I have no dog in this fight but I seriously doubt a new 2016 model is going to have any effect on 360s which are now 4 model cycles back. Completely different markets by this time. And, as much as I love 308s (I've owned 3) I wouldn't be so bold as to predict further appreciation.

    +1.

"Price is truth" is an old saying that pertains here. Some cars selling quickly, lots languishing or being moved around between dealers.
