AFTER JUST SPEAKING TO HIS WIFE, BARBARA...SHE GAVE ME PERMISSION TO POST THIS.. MARQ RUBEN, ALIAS "QFERRARI OR MARQ R ' FROM MARYLAND, A LONG TIME MEMBER OF FCHAT PASSED AWAY LAST WEEK LOSING HIS BATTLE WITH LUNG CANCER. I KNEW HIM FOR 4 YEARS OR SO AND HE WOULD GIVE YOU THE SHIRT OFF HIS BACK...HIS FIRST IMPRESSION TO PEOPLE WAS THAT OF A TUFF, ROUGH , GUY, BUT NOT HIM. HE WAS ONE OF THE SWEETEST GUYS YOU WOULD MEET AND SHOWED A REAL CARING TO YOU AS YOU SPOKE TO HIM. ONE OF A KIND. HE WAS ALSO A PAST 20 YEAR PRESIDENT OF THE TVR CLUB.. HE WILL SURELY BE MISSED.. GREAT SORROWS OUT TO HIS WIFE, BARBABRA AND HIS MOTHER, DOROTHY. R.I.P. BUDDY, I WILL SEE YOU UP IN HEAVEN ONE DAY !! THANK YOU ALL, BRUCE-ANDREA WELLINGTON AUGUSTINE-JOSIE STAINO
Oh no! I had the pleasure of speaking with him via telephone about TVRs a while back. He was gracious, and very willing to help a complete stranger avoid a mistake. Although I didn't really know him, I'm certain the world is a darker place with him missing.
I remember him from when I lived in DC - a generous, enthusuastic and fine man, wealthy in the respect and love of his friends and family. Blessings for him and his family.
MY WIFE AND I ARE STILL IN SHOCK, HE AND BARBARA SPENT THE WEEKEND AT OUR HOUSE LAST SUMMER....IM STILL NUMB.................. THANKS GUYS FOR YOUR KIND WORDS....I WILL SEND THIS THREAD TO BARBARA IN A COUPLE OF DAYS......TO SHOW HER THAT SHE HAD A REAL GEM AND MARQ WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN............ BRUCE
I remember him giving very valuable advice in this forum and even quoted his signature before. It's unreal that one day someone will be participating on FChat and the next has left us. I only wish I knew him better. He was a great part of the community and my deepest sympathys to his family and those who knew him best.
RIP My condolences to the family. I didn't know him well but cooresponded on Fchat with him a few times and hate to hear this kind of news about anyone.
I didn't know him personally, but he was a valuable member of the community. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family. RIP.
Although Bruce was nice enough to mention my condolences earlier, I wanted to say something on my own as well. Marq was a wonderful person. I met him and his lovely wife Barbara nearly three years ago at Bruce and Andrea's house and we have been friends ever since. Marq was always great to talk to. He was lighthearted no matter what the situation and always a great source of positivity. He was always very supportive of me in everything I did. Marq, It was great getting to know you. I love and miss you, buddy! Augustine
May I add my condolences along with the rest of FChat. I did not know Marq personally but only through here. If Bruce says that he was a great guy, I would have to believe it to be so. I will miss his input here and I am sure his family and friends will miss his presence with them. My prayers go out to Barbara and the family.........................
MARQ'S WIFE BARBARA THANKS EVERYONE HERE FOR YOUR KIND WORDS AND RESPECT FOR HER HUSBAND. I THANK YOU TOO............ BRUCE
