I plan on attendig Marques Monaco in April. I was wondering if anyone can give recommendations to a first time visitor on places to see and things that are a must do in Monte Carlo. Any advice is greatly appreciated!

BTW...is anyone else attending the event? I've got VIP passes and wonder what the difference is from the tickets available through the website.

Since the trip will be in just a few weeks, I figure I would give this one last shot and see if any European F-chatters can give me feed back on things to do in Monaco. Another girl or two may join last minute so I've got the responsibility of planning the sites to visit. An acquantaince told me Jimmy's (?), the club is a blast. Feedback for otherwise lost American girl(s) would be great.

    Hi,

I did not see this thread before. Strange that nobody reacted sofar.
There are plenty of things to see. I could spend a day sitting on a terrace next to the casino Monte Carlo and watch all the exotics pass by. It is usually funny to see how some people discuss with the porter of the casino why their "Audi TT Quattro S-Line" is not good enough to be parked right in front of the casino (next to the Lambo's, Bentley, Ferrari's, etc.). They are usually referred to the public garage! :)
There are some nice possibilities for a tour. The best thing is to ask your hoteldesk for some information.
Remember that Monaco is very small. So maybe you would like to rent a car and visit St. Tropez, Nice or Cannes.

Have fun on your trip. Monaco is a very special place. Like Ton said, the Casino Square is a must see :) The Ferrari/Maserati dealer too (I saw you already have a map with some points of intrest in another thread). There's a small but good merchandising store (Formula One) in the Rue Grimaldi 15, not too far from the Ferrari/Maserati dealer.

If you would like to see a nice overview of the whole country I recomand driving up the mountain towards La Turbie... perfect to relax a bit and see the principality from a different perspective.

Nice is indeed a really nice city too... Cannes isn't my favourite... Saint Tropez is cool but also a bit smal and a bit further away from Monaco... San Remo, just accros the Italian border, is much closer and gives you a taste of Italian Riviera...

Thanks for the suggestions, I think I have a very good idea of what to do in Monaco, but wouldn't mind hearing more from the Europe section...

BTW...its gorgeous in New York right now!!

What has the weather typically been like in the past around mid April? Would it still be too early to visit the beaches or wear miniskirts?

The French Riviéra mostly has a mild and sunny climate... high temperatures right now are about 19°C/67°F, low's around 10°C/51°F
I guess short skirts and bikini's won't be that much of a problem during the day... :)

However... you never know for sure with the weather these days... ;) So be sure to bring something else too...

Sounds like packing the minis and brazilian bikinis may not be a total waste.

Try Stars and Bars in the port. Fun place. The grand prix cafe (the old rascasse )
Behind the ferarri dealer is a small little lounge bar and a mexican restaurant owned by an american women.
