marriott newport coast villas

well it's time for another vacation. i ran accross the villas and was wondering does anybody here own time with this location? we have have time at the royal palms in florida and almost always trade it out.

anybody have any experiance with this location, reviews pros/cons? we have two children so the extra room is a big plus. and the hotels i usually book i.e. ritz, montage are book'd solid in september. with a similar cost i was wondering if it's worth it.

the marriott laguna cliffs room rate is the same for these villas and that's for a 1rm pool view! go figure.

off topic but related, i lived in newport for yrs and most of the luxury hotels are in dana point but call themselves ethier newport or laguna. never understood why.
