hi all, I wanted to introduce myself and share our 1987 Ferrari 412 in Marrone metallizzato with a tan leather interior, and 6,400 original miles. The previous owner was His Highness Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah (Arabic: ناصر صباح الأحمد الصباح; 27 April 1948 – 20 December 2020) who was the First Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense of Kuwait !! I picked up the car at an auction this summer, waiting on a few small parts and will be on the road with it within the next two weeks. Good day Tony, Firstly, welcome to the forum and thank you for the pictures! Your car looks fantastic and the color is amazing! I did notice that the rear section looks to be sitting lower than it i should. Consequently, it make be prudent to check the rear low leveller system, as something may be amiss. Also, we all love sitting pictures of our cars and so if you have more pics and are inclined t o do so, then by all means post more pictures. Cheers, Sam
thanks Sam. Yes - it's low in the photos. Those images were actually from the auction when the car hadn't been started in years. We've carefully gone over everything, hand turned the engine, replaced hoses, fuel tank etc and started the car - the suspension then raised. I'm highly dubious that it's trouble free though - i had previously had an 81 400i where that system had been replaced. I'll get some new photos of it soon!
Looks stunning - congrats on the purchase. Not the usual shade of Marrone though. It looks quite a lot more grey, and less brown, than the typical Marrone of the 70’s and early 80’s. Though maybe it’s my iPad screen! Either way, what a fantastic way to travel.
I certainly did! What a beautiful machine - It's a total pleasure to drive. So far I've been using it sparingly - a few sunday rides and then into Manhattan for dinner a couple of times. Yes - having to let it go to make room for something else. I’ve always wanted an Aston Martin DB6 and one became available locally. I’ll miss the 412 - I really enjoyed using it.
DB6! Can't argue with that logic. 1600 Veloce has done a great job on the auction listing for the 412. I hope it does well.
