Maryland's new historic tag changes for 2025

    Well, as of July 1, 2025 Maryland has changed the historic tag laws again, and not for the better. Now historic is a fixed date, not a rolling 20 or 25 years like before. It's fixed at 1999 or older. 360, 456M, 550, 575 guys have one less option now.

    Worst part is that 2000-2005 cars that are already historic have to now re-register as regular car. You'd think they'd be grandfathered in.

    Just another money Maryland money grab. Honestly I hate it when State governments who can't cut a single dollar of expense in their "perfect in everyway" government start changing the tax rules to get more money.

    Virginia is a rolling 25 years which I think is fair. Making it a fixed date means the MD legislature has to pass a bill every year to update it .....if they choose to......

    lol @ money grab. It’s because folks with 2005 Accords were registering them as historic and daily driving them. This was bound to happen.
