Have any of you guys been to this track? I have been invited on a track day there on Monday 13th September. It has a prvate track and museum with a very notable Ferrari collection. It does sound very special. Check out http://www.mas-du-clos.com/e/Default.htm If it is that good then does anyone want to join? The guys organising it did a great job arrranging hotels, free instructors and meals for the track day I did recently at Magny Cours. There were numerous 360 CS's, one Enzo and no-one worried about noise limits etc. They also maximise track time with free access from 9.00 am til 6.00pm with 1hour break for lunch. The downside is the high mileage in getting to and from the circuit. However, the last FOC magazine had an adert from a transportation company. If there was enough support I would be keen to look at getting the cars shipped there and the drivers join later via a quick easyjet type flight. Any feedback appreciated. Regars Izza
Please take an obscene amount of pictures when you go there... i would really appreciate seeing everything you take a picture of... Thank you...
Izza, I have been there several times and have also driven the track. Its just wonderful! Also the surrounding and hospitality. Its privat owned race track, not a big or fast one but amazing to drive. To me, its just a 2 hours drive. Go for it! It realy worth it! A few others from the european section has also been there last year.
Izza, I#m definitely interested. What is the mileage. Are you thinking of making a holiday of t i/e over a few days ? Philip
The mileage from Calais to circuit is about 680km - i.e.425miles My first quote for a 5 car trailer is 3600 + VAT (I am still searching). If I drive then I will make a break of it with family. If I use a transporter then it will be a quick dash on easyjet. One other option - leave the cars down there and fly down a month later for the big Ferrari festival at Magny Cours and then drive back!! Izza

I saw an interview with Pierre Bardinon (owner of Mas-Du-Clos) a few years back. I was (pleasantly) surprised when he mentioned that he refused to sell any of his cars during the bloated market of the mid-80's to early 90's. "You should not make money with what you love," were his exact words. He gave me the impression that although he treasures his collection, he's also very casual about it as well. Keep in mind that he bought most of his cars at a time when Enzo Ferrari considered them to be junk, since they were last seasons race car. A comparison if I may, for those of you who haven't been to Mas-Du-Clos, picture this: What the Playboy Mansion is to a sex maniac, the Mas-Du-Clos is to a Ferrari lover. Cheers!
Except one thing - At the Playboy Mansion you apparently cannot play (unless you are Hef) while at the Mas du Clos you can!!!!
