Via, Octane Magizine UK, voted on by Moss, Hill, Shelby, Bell, etc. and the motoring public. Sorry Ferrari, you loose again!

Very arguable choice for sure - and the legendary Fangio drive didn't hurt it either.

To me it's the Mercedes Moss/Jenkinson Mille Miglia SLR 722 - the most epic drive (Nuvolari's beating the Silver Aeros excepted) ever.

I think you mixed two things here:

Yes, Moss/Jenkinson`s MM 1955 "fly" was the most epic sports car race! No doubt about that!

But Fangios "ride" on the `Ring, beating his own lap-record no less than 5 times, was clearly a fantastic story on its own and the greatest race in F1-history! Yep, Nuvolari beating the "Silver Arrows" on the same place in 1935 comes veeeeery close!

The 250F truly deserved winning the OCTANE-poll!

    Ciao!

What I meant to communicate was what you said - it's terrible for me not to speak any languages! :) To me, the 55 MM was "the run" with "the car", but the magic of the Master and the Flying Mantuan on the ring are stuff of individual legand!!! The Ring is such a magic place.
