Maseratisti, It is my understanding that as well as the body by Touring, that there were also 2 by Bertone, 2 by Boneschi, 2 by Frua, 1 by Moretti and 4 by Allemano. What is known of there whereabouts today ? I have seen photos of a metallic burgundy 3500 GT attributed to Frua, but it bears many styling similarities to the 5000GT by Allemano. Can anyone shed some light ? Thank you, Enrico.
Hello Enrico, There are already a couple of threads here that deal with 3500GT production, among them this one: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/maserati/270739-3500-gt-production-years.html Cheers, Gabriel
Thank you for your informative replies. Some time ago Sig Cozza faxed me his chart for the complete production of Maserati GTs and Spyders from 1946 to 1990, quoting the yearly production figures for each model. I took my figures from this. When I added the yearly figures of each model, they confirmed his total production figure. The awsome site devoted to Pietro Frua certainly confirms 4 3500 GTs attributed to him. Sig Cozza stated just the 2 in 1962. It's the cars attributed to Allemano that puzzle me. Cozza quoted 3 in 1958 and 1 in 1959, and for Boneschi 1 in 1962 and 1 in 1963, for Bertone, just the 1 in 1959 and the example by Moretti in 1965. Enrico.
