I know someone who is restoring one. I don't think he'll get out ahead on the restoration if he sells it. I don't think they are especially valuable in the market right now and parts are apparently a bit hard to find.

That car is known as the Sebring. After the success Maserati had with the 3500GT spyder (also known as the Vignale spyder) the factory decided to offer a coupe version build on the same shortened chasis. Vignale was given the task of creating this coupe. It was offered in two series, a 1963 model would be a series 1.

More information and photos about this, and all other Maserati GT cars, can be found on my website.

The early 60's Maserati GT cars have been on a strong rise lately. They offer the classic looks of a 60's exotic, have superior build quality and are much more reliable than similar era Ferraris or Lamborghinis.

The biggest concern is the Lucas Injection, many cars have been switched over to Webers. Most of the problems with the injection come from the fact that Maserati did not weld the hood shut before the car left the factory. In other words so called mechinics working the car that shouldn't have been permited to do so.

    Production numbers accoding to Maserati:
    3500 GT -1980
    Sebring S1 - 350
    Serbring S2 - 250
    Mistral - 830

    Mistral # 1216
    Ghibli SS # 2110
    Khamsin # 1226
    Bora # 1046

Hi, I don't know anything specific, but I work across the parking lot from Scuderia Ramparte in Boulder and the owner (who is an FChatter) is working on a beautiful 3500GTi Sebring model right now. His FChat user name is DaveHelms.
