I am restoring a 1959 Maserati 3500gt, and the floor is very rusty and needs to be replaced. I have been unsuccessful in finding documentation about the original floor panel thickness.
    Can anyone help?

    Regards Ole

Can you just measure a piece of non-rusty or minimally rusty adjacent metal

I just measured the ones I removed. They are 0.035 to 0.040"

    Also:
'm restoring a 1962 Maserati 3500 GT, AM 101.1048 and need information about the insulation, particularly the fire wall and foot well insulation. They seemed to use a lot of regular fiberglass and jute, some in the engine compartment was covered with fiberglass matts. Is it important to use similar products or more modern, better products? Then keep the outward appearance similar to the original.
    Thanks,
    Jim
