I am in search of various engine parts for a Maserati 5000GT (2nd series). Specifically, I am looking for cylinder heads, valve covers, components for the throttle bodies and injection system. Additionally, I am also in need of Borrani wheels (similar to those on the Indianapolis) in the size of 6.00 x 16, as well as instruments.

I welcome any tips and offers that you may have.

    Best regards
    Nico

I believe with the RW number Borrani can make you a new set of wire wheels.

Hi Ivan, the main issue is that the RW Number is unknown. While 103.010 and 103.014 were originally equipped with these Borrani Wheels, the restorer of both cars polished the wire wheels to long, and no number are now visible.

    Hello Nico5000GT/red27...

The RW3875 are shown as being 6.5"x15", but in your earlier post you indicate your tire size is 6.00 x 16..
As such, I don't think the RW3875 will fit.. The 6.00 x 16 Borrani wheels may be the same as used on early
    3500GT's, Sebrings, and Mistrals....

    This catalog may be helpful.
It shows options in 15" or 16" for Maserati on pages 13-15

    Hi

I always thought that the 5000GT came with 15" wheels and the Pirelli 205VR15 CN72. However looking at it now it seems that the 5000GT started being made pre 1964; before any one even Pirelli had invented the ability to make a 205 section tyre. So like all the other top notch Sports cars in that period they had to fit the 185VR16 Cinturato, because, other than racing crossply tyres, the 185R16 Cinturato was the biggest tyre that could handle the power and speed in the day.

So it looks like the early 5000GT came with the RW4495 which was also fitted to some of the later 3500GT cars

However, that is in principal a generalisation of what we think was fitted. We could jokingly say, that is what the average 5000GT fitted, but what we also know is that there is no such thing as a average 5000GT. they are all well above average, and in truth all different. I would suggest if you really want to get into this, email us through the www.borrani.com web site, where your email will get through to Simon in our office. he is a pretty extreme Borrani nerd. he will chase your car through and research your exact car. that way we can get it spot on.

But for pre 1964 Maserati owners we do have these on the shelf:

    https://www.longstonetyres.co.uk/tyres/185-16/185-vr-16-pirelli-cinturato-ca67.html

we hope to get the crossply Stella Bianca back in soon, toward the end of the year.

I am really hoping to hear from Pirelli any day now to tell me the 205VR15 CN72 are on their way. I'm hoping they will be here next month!. This is what Maserati fitted to their road cars between 1964 and the 1970s, when they moved on to 215/70VR15 CN12 which i should have toward the end of the year.

Tyre production has been in a terrible state this last year or so, because of the pandemic and that idiot in Russia.
