The Maserati Coupe, Spider and Q engines all use timing chains. Since the new F430 is just a hopped-up version of the Maserati engine, does it also use timing chains or did Ferrari change that fine Maserati designed engine to use belts so Ferrari dealers can continue to screw its customers with the high cost of belt change services?

The 430 will use timing chains.

Screw customers? About $1500 for a 360 belt replacement by the dealer (primarily because it's done in situ).
