Hi there, I have come across this beaty on a spanish forum. It says that its a Maserati 5000 gt Bertone. It has spanish plate (Barcelona). Anyone knows anything about this beaty? Perhaps Walter can share any interesting information about it.... Cheers! Image Unavailable, Please Login
What about this one? Any information on it? It says on the forum that its a 3500 GTI modified by Pedro Serra..... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hi Azul, Do you know who is Pedro Serra? I would like to know when the car was modified and which parts have been modified. Any information is welcome. Alfred
There is a thread here about the 5000 GT Bertone: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=309869
It's fascinating how some very interesting Maseratis went to Spain in the 1960s and 1970s. I don't know what is(are) the story(ies) behind this, but perhaps somehere here knows...?
Is the car still in Italy? As for 2007 the car was already there. Some sources say it's the Tipo 104, a one-off made by Touring to replace the 3500. The car was originally blue, delivered in early 1964 to Spain, and later rebodied by Serra, but still a mistery... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes it is very simple. During the times of Franco,it was a law, that every exhibitor in the car salon of Barcelona, they have to presnt ,at least ,five different models. For big manufacturers this was no problems. But for small ones ,this was a handicap. So ,for example Maserati ,presented cars, prototypes, cars which were not possible to sell in Italy or another country,etc.,etc. So in this way, they arrived many strange cars. All this cars were sold in Spain, because it was very difficult to get an import license, but buying the cars directly from the motorshow,it was easier, because ,and according to the law, they were already officially imported. So they sold in Spain many prototypes, special coachworks, and so on. Remenber the BOOMERANG,which was found in Spain. Also nearly ,all QUATTROPORTE II,(Bertone),were sold here. MORETTI ,for example presented a coupe,(My father bought this),with FIAT logo. Hope this short information helps you.
Yes. An interesting story. There must be many unknown treasures in Spain. The silver car in Azul's first post is very nice. Beautiful lines. A classic and a one-off?
As Juan Enrique says, many interesting cars were imported into Spain through the Barcelona Motor Show, and sold later in Spain. I'm writting an special article about the 100 years of the Barcelona Motor Show, which will be published in autódromo, a new magazine devoted to the motor history in Spain, wich was presented some weeks ago. In fact I also wote the history of the Maserati Boomerang and Porsche Tapiro in our country, both sold in Spain, and owned by the same person at one time (one can see in the color photo the nose of the Tapiro), for a spanish magazine which no longer exists. aps, one quick question: is there some kind of organized club for Maserati in Spain? I'm asking because in all the years that I've been around Modena, the factory people and the various international meetings around Europe, I've never EVER seen or met one person from Spain.
Azul, I have been following your progress on your Mistral. Well done. I am spending Chrismas in Valencia with my family. Might you be aware of any 60s era Maseratis for sale in Spain. Many thanks Tim.
One of the spanish Tipo 108 also had its nose changed sometime, somwhere... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Is this the same car (108.008) - before the nose job...? (photo found at Enrico's Maserati Pages) Image Unavailable, Please Login
