The switches on the steering column of my 1972 Euro Bora are cracked at the base. I know this is a common problem with the Vitaloni components and that there are several options for their repair. I decided to purchase a NOS unit and repair the original at a later date. The original unit, shown below, looks and operates exactly as described in the Bora owners manual. The larger left side stalk controls the headlight/parking lights and the smaller left side stalk controls the turn signals. The right side stalk controls the wiper/washer, and when rotated turns on the interior lights. The NOS unit shown below has a slightly different configuration that more closely resembles the Boras shown on this and Ivan's site. Does anyone know when this change occurred and can someone explain the function of their individual stalks? I am wondering if the new unit's wiring will work with my existing setup. FWIW the new unit has the same configuration as my 1972 Dino but with shorter stalks. Thanks in advance for all help. Hi Tom, I can't offer any insight on the differences betw US and Euro spec Bora stalks, but I can offer a good photo of the Vitaloni stalks on my '75 US spec Bora when mine was being recommissioned. FUNCTIONS: - The RH stalk operates the wipers (and supposedly the interior lights, but I haven't verified that). - The forward-most LH stalk operate the parking, high and low beams. - The RH stalk closest to the steering wheel operates the directionals. Based on the photos, your "NOS" Vitaloni appears like my US spec, without the "function" markings. Cheers, - Art Image Unavailable, Please Login
"Unobtanium supplies" has repaired many Vitaloni switches for Ferraris, and will most likely repair your original switch better than new. Best, Jack.
Jack, thanks. I have contacted them and although they're quite busy they should get to mine in a month or so. Thank you Tom
