Excellent. How did you go about organizing an initial crew for the Merak project? If using a spreadsheet approach, can on-line form-fill supply each owner's auto-fill of his entry (subject to ultimate edit)?? Wishing to know more, and thanks for all so far. Best, N.E. 949.551.4770 [email protected]
One kind person invested time and effort to gather everyone under one umbrella, yes I'm talking about you George

At first one by not be terribly impressed with that price but after looking at the photos this car needs a complete restoration of at least the cosmetics and not just a simple paint job and re-dye of the interior. It's already had that ....
Looks like Bora values are taking a hike up. Good for those who already own. Bad for those in the market.
Agree. Initially not so impressed with the sale price but then i zoomed in on the photos posted on Bonhams website you come to the conclusion this is a total resto job.. and prices are definitely heading north.
What is currently the best technical forum for Bora owners for technical data/information and "how to" questions? What does it take to remove the instrument panel beyond removing the 5 chrome bolts? Thanx Mark 1973 49-554 Yellow
Heard at Monterey that a certain Bora (subject of magazine article 5 years back or so) sold privately for $147K US$ to Fantasy Junction (maybe?) which then resold by them on to European customer for over $185K... or similar. Details need backing up. Later, heard that another Bora sold at one of the Monterey auctions for less than $50K US here. Let's see what can be verified. Trend does seem up, but not everyone yet participating. All real verifiable information welcomed. NE
Anyone knows what chassis is this car (or where is it)? It was featured in the 1971 italian film "In nome del Popolo Italiano", it looks like a 4.7: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-UOl_Nb9XBQ
I hear regularly of garage queen Bora examples, but never see them, rarely can actually track down same, and wonder what they'd fetch in price. However, as I drive mine regularly and 'without reserve', it's no show car. Paint re-do alone (and don't 67% sorta need it?) seems to run at about $25K or so, sans metalwork, if you're not handy or 'related'. Interior could be same, if counting engine compartment plus seats, plus LHM fresh, A/C fresh, etc. So, there's 50k. At least. Whereas most were going out at about $50k until lately (pre-refreshed), that's over US$100k for final consideration, minimum?? In Europe, perhaps more? --Any currently known to be (actually) on market in USA? To me the Bora drives much better than the Ghibli and so many others (no experience with Khamsin), and of course aesthetically it's my game (tho' tastes differ). It just hits that ultimate sweet 'never to be repeated' spot historically and experientally. I like mid-engine cars SO much (favorite modern driver is my 2001 Boxster). However, I'm always willing to drive one more example of something thoughtfully recommended. NE
I spoke to a guy 2 weeks ago that had AM117-49-698 listed for sale. 1974 red over black with just under 20k on the clock. He claims to have sold it for $185k.
Just check pricing in Europe. Starting at $200k and up from there. Which is at least where they should be.
Don't know where the car went. He is a dealer in Vermont. Saw his listing on his site as "price to inquire". I inquired and got immediate reply that the car was sold,to a collector for $185k. Site includes inventory of other vintage 308,328,512BBs. Maserati 3500 gt. Dino's etc
I was just watching Auctions America from Auburn. Mostly no sales for some very nice cars and paltry amounts too. Could this be the signal of the correction?
I don't think Auction America defines the market. I also didn't see any noteworthy cars. Which ones are you referring to?
No not the entire market but there were several cars that should have sold. Infact I only saw one car sell. All were way below what I would call expected market and not the inflated market of late. These were however mostly American classics. The town & country and Airflow sedan were bid very low and worthy of much more than that. That's why there were so many no sales. It was embarrassing. The 35 Airflow coupe did sell for a bargain price if it was as good as it looked (hard to really tell) from TV. The yellow 38 Chrysler convertible was painted in a very wrong color so I understand that one. A couple of others were garrish IMHO. But still, I was very surprised.
Ah. All cars I know nothing about. I think Mecum Dallas next weekend will have strong results for American muscle.
