I'm looking for a color sample of Blue Tigullio Metalizzato. Does anyone have a photo of any car in this color? Many thanks.
I can't find it on any of my databases for color names. Are you sure that is an official color? The car should have a label with it.
Absolutely 100% sure. Source Maserati S.p.A. For Maserati Sebring. (a "pre-label" car) Thank you for looking.
It's listed on Ivan Ruiz's (http://www.thecarnut.com/Manuals/Paint/Maserati_GT_factory_paint_codes.pdf) overview of Maserati factory paint codes...
Car 101.1470 in the 3500 GT directory supposedly has that color, but there are two 3500s in the photo in the directory, both are blue, and I don't know which one is the right one! Cheers, Gabriel
Thanks Gabriel. That's been my problem of trying to find the "correct" Blue Tiguillo Metallic. I have been advised of three different shades of Tiguillo Metallic. Next is to look at the PPG/Myers color chart; which I suspect isn't 100% accurate. Cheers then! ~Trev
Ah yes found it, I was looking for "blue" because thats the way you wrote it in the first place, but I should have searched for "Bleu Tigullio". I can't find any pictures of a real car. One option would be to go to a paint shop and ask them to do a sample for you on a piece of metal.
Hi Trev and everyone out there. I have Sebring #1655 that I am restoring and am looking for the correct color that is listed on the build sheet from the factory. The original color was Argento Luna which I have not been able to find anywhere as a reference other than Ivan's color code list. I have come up blank with searches of the max meyer and ppg codes at the local Finish Masters paint distributors who are pretty good with finding old colors. What I do find are two colors that come up with this name: one is a Lamborghini color which is a very pale straight silver almost a metallic white when you look at in the sun. The other is a current Maserati color which is a pale to medium metallic light blue which is lighter and more silver by comparison than Celeste Chiaro. Has anyone run across this color back in the day...Messieurs Mandarano or Baeumer? Do you all remember the color as light blue or straight silver? The interior was dark green which would be a great color combination. Thanks for the help. Chris
Hi,i´m searching for the correct mixture from "argento una" too! Did you find something? grazie e saluti, Bernhard
As Argento Luna basically means "Moon Silver", my guess is that it is the pale silver, as you describe as almost white in sun light.
Try Maserati Mexico Registry There's a picture of a Mexico in that shade. Tigullio is the name of the bay around Portofino, the sea is definitely as blue as this Mexico!
