Maserati Gran Turismo Convertible at Maserati of San Francisco!!

Why don't they call it Maserati Mill Valley?

 

All the auto manufacturers have gone to naming the dealers after geographic locations for a variety of reasons. They also want widely recognized names and they felt outside of the area no one would recognize Mill Valley. Also when Ferrari opened the store they felt Mill Valley did not have the cache San Francisco did. It has been confusing people since to 90's when they opened the place.

Thats what you get when people 3000 miles away who are not really sure where California is are making the decisions.

 

IMO When company's do this it builds mistrust. May seem insignificant, but the subliminal mind picks up on it. If your company is not where it says it is, what else is going on?

 

Well it is in the SF area and I am sure that is all there is to it. It was not done to obscure or obfuscate. In this case the worst FNA was guilty of was a judgement lapse and I am certainly no opologist for them. After all who cares if some kid in Frankfurt knows what part of the world the store is in, they should have been more concerned about someone in Palo Alto and those are the ones that have suffered from the confusion.

It was just a blonde moment but the deed is done.

 

Well, if sports teams can do it, Ferrari can do it.

NY Jets and NY Giants play in Secaucus, NJ (at one point about ten years ago, I'd read that something like 53 of the 54 players on the Giants lived in NJ, as well!)... Dallas Cowboys play in Irving, TX... And I'm sure countless other teams play in the 'burbs of their named cities, too...

I hope Mill Vallley Maserati (sounds so much better) has a nice show. I have owned a few Maserati's and enjoyed all of them.

 

I agree. Wish I could go - I'll be on my way back from Monterey on Sunday, but won't be able to go. Would love to the see GranTurismo Convertible (although a more Porsche-like "Gran Turismo Cabriolet" sounds better to me...) in person.
