So it was the glued on version rather than the one with pins behind it. That would explain why there's no trace of any drilled holes.
Khamsin Quaranta was simply amazing and it definitely made up for all the hassle in getting the prototype ready. What a great way to celebrate my birthday! Meeting Mr Gandini and having him sign the dashboard of #004 surely ranks as my best automotive experience ever! I want to thank all participants for their lovely company and kind words. My compliments to all the participating Khamsins and to my own team that took care of the proto and logistics. Merci beaucoup everyone! Wil #004, #272
PS: The B badge: Signor Cozza told me it was on all the cars but the glue did not resist all the car washes...[/QUOTE] Hi Marc thats great!! Cars washes good grief..... I wouneder if they had a set of dimensions for the location and if some had clips, so we can measure the holes from.........wishfull thinking I suppose. Busting to see more pictures Graeme
Marc and Will besides the prototype, and Ermanno Cozza and Fabio Collina receiving a gift from Will. Kind regards Marius Sorteberg Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hello all, Thanks for all the emails will catch up today and during the week end, I think I need a Weber carb expert to reset the vegetable between my ears: really working in slow motion! I posted a little video just now: click and it will start: http://youtu.be/MkaQ8r3kFBY There is another by Wouter which I just noticed (bedankt Wouter!) it is more exciting as it shows the cars leaving for the Tour de Bourgogne: [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jtcDoiV4us&feature=related[/ame] Will try to post another from my cell, also of Sunday morning, if anybody has others yes please! Have been looking at the photos of 2 of the 3 photographers, great stuff will post little by litte and compose discs for participants with general folder and some of your own car. best regards, Marc
Just 2 photos bracketing the event: On Thursday (and Friday since some arrived only Friday as per their choice) I was terrified of cell phone calls saying we are stranded on the Auto/bahn/route/strada and Philippe and I waited 2 hours before a single Khamsin showed up (except one of the Austrian cars which had arrived the day before)...then JW and his wife arrived in 351 a car I was very happy to see because it is the one of the 6 part restoration article in Supercar Classics back in 1986, the first ever K resto and a car which he reawoke from a 10 year slumber, like sleeping beauty just for K40. This first photo with the car tiny symbolizes how it all happened out of nowhere thanks to everyone's enthusiasm: merci! Soon after that the cars arrived in droves: amazing! The second photo is the group of hardy souls who stayed till the end for the Meursault visit which was excellent! best regards, Marc Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Cars washes good grief..... I wouneder if they had a set of dimensions for the location and if some had clips, so we can measure the holes from.........wishfull thinking I suppose. Amazing pictures of what must have been an amazing event. It's things like this that make me miss living in Europe. Hat is off to you, Marc! I always thought it a pity my car doesn't have the fender badges. So, they fell off? Really? Would be great, I have an excuse to put some new ones on!
Thanks Jack! I just got the disc with 800 photos from Arnaud...and forgot to have lunch Fabulous shots as are those of the other photographers, will post a selection after I resize them (and lunch!). Wouter great shot with the shoes, I think Wil's gift idea to Gandini is hilarious best regards, Marc PS: John in Danemark: your measurements are correct but some others were wrong. 1300kms north (more or less) minus 7 days and you could have been with us;-) just teasing, can't wait to see your car! MS
I am currently looking for a set of new or used original rear Khamsin mufflers.Anyone on the forum with a spare set? Thank you Jacques
Hi Jacques hopefully someone can help you. In the meantime some shots of the Friday road rally: Tour de Bourgogne showing how different colors come across form the exact same angle. best regards, Marc Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Some more shots from the event. Note how different the prototype interior was from production. Sorry about the action shot through the windscreen, was a little difficult due to bumpy road surface. Hi All K40 attendees Did any one take pictures of the Prototype interior and mainly the dash layout? and can you post them please Graeme
Hi Wouter Thankyou for the picture that has some detail I havent seen, the Center consol set up is what would also like to see. This is an event I regret not being able to attend! Regards Graeme
Hello all: Local Dijon paper reports about the "Khamesin meeting"(!) best to have a sense of humor about anything they write if you read French, clumsy reporting. http://www.bienpublic.com/fr/Search.aspx?q=khamsin&x=12&y=8&x=1&y=1 Graeme you can ship your car from Sydney now so it arrives in time for Khamsin Cinquanta in 2022;-) This is just a joke there is no other event planned for now. Here is the shot of your sunvisor so everyone can admire it: will post it today for its return journey acroos the globe! Plenty more photos later today, promised, including protoype interior, am catching up with emails! best regards, Marc Image Unavailable, Please Login
I may have cocked up and overwitten my original picture, but you may be able to see the centre console below. Balbir Image Unavailable, Please Login

Notice how they parked in line as planned but slightly like a stealth bomber sharp Vee formation...funny coincidence since the K shape is almost stealth like... That is 17 of them, another 10 joined us from that evening onwards. Right: dinner time more later best regards, Marc Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
A very disappointing event: apart from the Spyder not one car in celeste chiaro. Just kidding of course!!! It looks fantastic, I'm enjoying every picture!
Bonjour AMLC! Well now you can make triple sure you join us if we do another one (we have no clue about that at this point) and your car would have been one of the finest additions! Only a couple in the Uk in celeste (actually one emigrated to Brussels, yes a RHD on the continent) and one near Zurich so a very rare and stunning color. Also we did not have that many smooth noses like yours but that reflects the percentage of reality. best regards, Marc
