20,000 orders in less than one year, they must of got something right

Maserati sold around 7000 units in 2012, they might sell over 45k this year, say what you want about Sergio, but his plan is slowly working.

 

I beleive it's a modified Ghibli chassis which is bespoke to Maserati so no.

 

Did you test drive one?

 

Yep, I may not like the styling on a lot of the cars but we are getting a quality product under the skin from them on a semi regular bases. We have to give Sergio some credit for that. Maybe on the next round they will be more original with the body designs.

 

I have not driven one yet but I will. Does the S have the same exhaust sound as the GT?

 

It's currently -25 Celsius in Montreal and I saw 3 Ghiblis during my lunch break......didn't see any CLS's, 650 coupes or E-Class coupes......they must be onto something!

 

Drives very well for an SUV - nicely balanced. Good sounds - similar to the Ghibli. For some reason, I prefer the Levante over the Ghibli (which I found very disappointing) - the Levante feels more of an occasion. Still considering (I drive the previous Q'porte as my daily - and that one is hard to beat)...

 

Did you drive a base or an S?

 

An S (don't think they sell the base in Switzerland, although they do sell the diesel...)

The Levante is more luxurious, the Alfa will be sportier.

Just drove one 400 miles today the S, really like this. The LRS is 505 hp but I swear this feels faster. Double sport mode feels and sounds aggressive. Nice aggressive look no stupid smiley face. Very cool.

 

Have a client looking to go from MB S63 to a Levante. Judging from what I've read here it seems he's crazy. Will have to ask him how the test drive went last week and report back.

 

Saw this one at a dealer function about 8 weeks ago. I'm not into SUVs but the Levante does come across with Maserati DNA. All the same, I think it would look better with black instead of chrome trim.

Even in the crisis-stricken Greece Maserati managed to sell 2 Levante Diesels (one white, one black).

Not so good picture from crappy cell phone with it's siblings. Favorite of the bunch is the "74 Correct Craft, although the Levante is pretty awesome. Did over 700 miles in a few days, great ride, sounds mega, will move when prodded.

Only glitch has been the screwie computer thingie in the middle. Kept toggling back and forth on it's own to weather and traffic not set up, then another time screen went black when we were messing with carplay mode with Iphone. Had to cut car off then back on for it to reset. Service rep says it needs software update. Overall I'd rate it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Great looking levante!

Seems the waiting list is growing across the globe. How does it compare to your RR?

 

Love the Levante S in Blue with the brown interior , very similar to my 458 Blu Pozzi with Choc.
Ordered one of the first allocation cars in white with the zegna interior , still not in , Just picked up a Range Rover diesel .

 

Say what you want about the Levante but Maserati sales were up 60% in December as opposed to Dec 15'

They are almost doubling their sales.

Should interesting to see what Maserati sales look like next December after Alfa comes off a full year of Giulia sales . Alfa will not have their SUV on the market yet I will bet , but will Ghibli sales be way down. I do not drink FCA coolaid. The Giulia QV will be in direct competition for the Ghibli customers.

 

Nah.....most Giulia sales will be leased 4cyl Turbos which retail around 40-45K, nothing to do with Ghibli clients or sales.

Ghibli sales are already cooling down but the Levante should more than double sales in the US for Maserati
