My collection of die-cast 1/18 scale Ferrari models up to a modest 8, and growing fast.

One of the top items on my wish list is the new version of the Enzo, the Maserati MC12 homologated Le Mans racecar. It may not be badged as a Ferrari, but it's all cavallino.

Anyone know where I can get a 1/18 scale Maserati MC12? Is it on the market yet?

(Why do 1/43-scale always come out first and in greater variety?)

    ------------------------
If anyone is interested, my collection currently includes:
    360 Spider F1 (scaglietti options)
    550 Maranello
    456 GT
    612 Scaglietti
    Enzo
    F50
    F40
    F2003-GA (Schumacher)

on the way are the Pininfarina Mythos and Maserati 3200 GT Coupe.

The reason 1/43 scale seems to come out faster and in a greater variety is due to cost and information

    - BBR is doing the Maserati. They get the info sooner than anyone else. They are even taking orders now for the Ferrari 430 Modena replacement. Try calling Mattel to place an order for that one!

    - 2nd - The cost of developing a resin model is far less than developing a diecast model. Diecast molds cost $100ks!

    - 3rd - 1/43 Resin models don't have (usually) all the opening parts that a diecast 1/18 have. Making the development easier in terms of technically making the model body and interior
