Fantastic! The only thing... they didn't allow you to enter inside the car, or taking pics of the interior... Anyway great pics! And thanks again!

... There's an error in the register: the MC12 which was used in the Top Gear video is also the first one ever delivered, the MC 05 MAS is another car, not used in any video.

    Thanks a lot, really!!!

Walter, i know for sure that 5 MC12 were sold in Germany, including the tuned version of Edo Competition, which belongs to a Russian guy.

Since you are a member of the Maserati Club of Germany, do you have other infos?

Thanks again, we appreciate a lot your help!!!

The EDO-COMPETITION-car is #19405, owned by Mr. Bareither from Germany. The car has got several suspension- and electronical-upgrades. The owner intends to get this car to 400 km/h. New wheels are just beeing made.
Also the car has NO catalytic converters fitted anymore - sound is incredible!

    Anyway, thaks alot again!

You have pics of this car that are different from those which are on the net??

NO! Bareither told me he bought the car new. He also ordered the stupid Ferrari-XX!

Btw., it`s nice to see all the pictures of various MC-12 on this Forum. But without VIN`s it doesn`t make REAL sennse.

I always get the VIN when you "hide" it in your request to the owner....

    Ciao!

Just checked! The Bareither-car DEFINATELY starts with "19...".
Yes, I have other pictures of it including some of the modification on the suspension but those are very hard to identify by non-mechanics!
No, I ALWAYS struggle to send them via "Imageshack" and I don`t want to waste time on that! Sorry!

    Worth to note:

Yesss, the MC-12 is based on the Enzo -BUT: with major differences!
The MC-12 suspension is far more better that of the Enzo. The MC-12 had to be build -and homologated!!- as a race car. The Enzo never did! I drove now 2 MC-12 and 1 Enzo and car say ( I drove them on the Spa-Francochamps circuit!) that the MC-12 is clearly superior to the Enzo.

Now it gets interesting: a VERY important member of the Maserati-Factory confirmed to me that the Ferrari FXX - is based on the MC-12!!!

But this -for sure!!- you will never ever hear from the Maranello-boys!

    Ciao!

Already knew that the MC12 was better than the Enzo, much more sophisticated (twin gear driven timing instead of a chain: it's the same timing system you find in a Formula One car), different aerodynamics.

One of the Maserati testers told me that 330 kph is an indicative speed, and with few mods, this car could reach veeeeeery high speeds!!!!!

well....that`s my little "secret". But when you are used to get involved with hist. Maserati race cars and their very rich owners as I do, than you know how to handle them.

I am close to Michael Bartels the Boss in the VITAPHONE-racing team. He clearely confirmed that to me also.

To cut the power of the MC-12 to the Enzo was one of those stupid political decisions made in Maranello! Not the first one....!

... The Ferrari - Maserati press office doesn't want to make comparisons between them.

One of the MC12 owners, Frank Mountain, did that with BOTH HIS CARS, and Maserati was very upset with him.

He was the same also that crashed the rear wing while driving it on the snow...

And....?? Do we know the VIN of his MC-12??? I strongly assume he did that when Maserati was till connected with Ferrari, right? Now this would ...perhaps!(??)... be different!

    Ciao!

No, and i would love to.

I know only its plate numbers, WX54 UDG, and that is the VERY FIRST Maserati MC12 ever delivered in the world (not the 1st one ever produced).

Frank Mountain now has ANOTHER MC12.

Yes, but i think that even if nowadays someone wants to make a comparison between them, Ferrari and Maserati won't allow that.

And it seems like there's a "curse" on that: when Mountain wanted to make this comparison, he invited the journalists of Top Gear magazine.

What happened? One of the press men, while driving his Enzo, tried to overtake a bus, but crashed it against the bus.

All the right side of the car got destroyed.
