Not the same pitch and harmonics, it's a matter of architecture and resonances.
    Similar when they went from V8 to V6 90° biturbo's in F1...:

Thank you for your video, it confirms my point.
IMHO that is noise, not sound ;)

I agree with you. You can make it sound good with a special exhaust but that is masking a bad sounding motor.

An Everyday Supercar Crown for the New Maserati Era

Wow that's a lot heavier than I figured. I thought at least 200 lbs lighter than that.

That's Bora territory, an all steel car with a lot of heavy glass and a heavy 4.9L V8. Shows you how much extra weight has been added to modern cars by all the newer technology and equipment.

I'm pleasantly surprised about these glowing reviews. Seems to be a 'no excuse' homerun that will put Maserati back on the map. :D
One expected complaint is the usual uninspiring sound coming from the twin-turbo engine. :( Nature of the beast.

"A triumphant return to the supercar ranks: it's fast, thrilling and engaging yet also wonderfully approachable and easy to drive."

Mazda Miata 2020 specs with full safety equipment. I am not a Miata fan, just showing it can be done even today, with a steel body no less. The Alfa 4C was about the same as the Miata with a carbon tub. It should have been less I would think or why bother!!

This Dutch journalist is very impressed by the MC20.
    Some quotes
“It´s a really new car, which doesn´t really remind me of anything”
“Even when it´s wet the traction and turn-in are so incredibly good”
“It doesn’t drive like anything I’ve driven before”
“It has created its own personality, which I think is really cool”

This is blu infinito I think, I like it.

The video has English subtitles but it´s possible that you have to click an icon on the bottom right of the screen to turn them on.

That is a great video. Sorry but I like what he thinks about the Mac. :)

I personally like the paddles "Ferrari style" and not mounted to the wheel as the Maserati has done. I like to know where they are when turning.
The Lambo to me is a great boulevard cruiser. Looks good, sounds good, nice interior. I think the MC20 is trying to be more like a refined Alfa 4c -- more of a true sports car. And that's a good thing if you're not looking for a daily driver or GT.

What in God's name does that ridiculous, failed micro-car 4C have to do w/ the new Bora?
OK. Built in VCM w/a carbon fiber tub; what else?

MC20 is hated because it is not a real sports car; sorry, problem is it is not a GT---ooops no---it is not an everyday supercar!
Failure because it is or is not a race-car (yet to turn a wheel in anger!)
But it will fail as it is priced too low---nooo---too high!
Styling too subdued---no--- too pretencious w/those doors!
Engine not from a competitor---is actually a stolen Ferrari/Alfa design. Either way, embarrassing!

I could go on & on!

Maserati has produced a genuine MULTI PURPOSE masterpiece according to EVERY review so far!
Just enjoy this magnificent moment in OUR history.

Unless you identify with Groucho Marx's feelings about belonging to clubs...

Well, that's a new one! I give a car a compliment and get blasted! :)

The MC20 s is not a GT, and thank heavens. I own a Corvette C8 and an Alfa 4c. Neither are a MC20. The Vette is a GT but it is not a true sports car. The Alfa is a pure sports car but lacks refinement.

Making a better, faster, more refined Alfa 4c is a compliment.

BTW: The MC20 is made on the same line in the same factory as the Alfa was. Both have a CF tub and both have SMC skin.

Also BTW: The MC20 uses the same US made Tremec dual clutch gearbox as the Corvette C8 (the 7 speed version is in the Mustang). I'm sure they adjusted the gear ratios and have their own software adjustments but it is the same 8 speed box. And its a good one at that.

Well atleast the 4C is a nimble lightweight 2400lbs unlike the overweight MC20. I like them both but what the hell, CF tub and still 3500 lbs.

Yes, that is a bit disappointing given how McLaren's have reduced weight.

Relayed a simple, documented fact as to the (unlikely?) presence of 5 MC20s at the gates of Maranello.
    Without comment.
Do with it as you wish.
    No more no less!
