But aren't you missing something ... the gargantuan difference in price? I couldn't get into the 4C. Even when I was young and thin (26 and 160 lbs) I couldn't fit in the Lancia Scorpian and bought the Beta coupe instead. But oh I wanted that car. It still tears at my styling heart strings. I tried again 5 years ago at Monterey. Even more no no no! LOL I suspect that's issue with the 4C but I didn't really push it. Long legs being the biggest issue.
That's not even my favorite color for the Bora but it's what mine is. There are plenty which really set it off well. Not a fan of the white, black or regular red. I think some of the more exotic colors might help the MC20 it's just for me there's too much of the dark plastic(whatever) areas.
the problem with the Alfa is they cut too many corners to get it close to the price of the Vette C7. This car did it right.
Yep. Good daily driver. But it’s no MC20 or Ferrari 458. I like it though. Didn’t like the C7 at all.
And at times that's a good thing! LOL. I've owned my share. That Beta coup and Alfa GTV6 were my least favorite. The Alfa was a styled over old and crude car. The styling and engine were lovely the tranny absolutely horrid! The interior was cheap cheap cheap! LOL
I am on my second C8, first a coupe and now a convertible. I agree it is no MC20 or 458 but for 1/3 of the price it cannot be beat. I never thought I would get a Corvette but the C8 is in a league of its own at its price point. Interior very quite nice and the car has plenty of gadgets to keep the owner occupied .... heads up display, wireless Apple play, heated/vented seats, location sensitive front lift, same dual clutch trans-axle as the MC20, Performance Video Recorder, and the list goes on. What it lacks is the exclusivity of the Maserati and Ferrari badge, What it has in its favor is the car can be serviced by any Chevy dealer and I have one 3 miles from my house. GM should be very proud of the C8. A MC20 is still on my Santa list Ivan
True, but the new C8's design, specs and quality is reaching a new audience (like me) that would have never considered a Corvette. It is the only non-European car in the garage. In a couple of years a MC20 will still be a very exclusive car while the C8s will be everywhere. Ivan
The C8 might be the best modern American car built. But the Mc20 interests me in the same way the Alfa 4C did. Apples and oranges but you can like both
Cars are like women, you think you have a set taste... until one day SHE, the one, arrives in your life like a tsunami and she is totally the opposite of what you thought you liked...but you are bowled over...but that is part of what makes life worth living: your thought process getting kicked upside down and dealing with it. I was a big engine snob but when I drove two Bizzarrini 1900 GT Europa, a De Tomaso Vallelunga and the one off Osca 1600SP stillborn racer, all for articles, all as nimble and fun as can be I had to rethink and I really enjoyed that
This really is a sexist pig forum ... not that there's anything wrong with that ... I wonder if there are women's car forums and if they talk about cars they like in an analogous manner? We better hope not ... LOL
I recently drove a 2018 Ford GT and I must say that car really convinced me. I`ve never driven any American car that really hugged me that much. The ol`Cobra 289 came close.
and, this too is the MC20's fault? So many many creative solutions for this issue through the decades. For example: Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes. Designers know that plates have to go on the front and rear so if their design can't tastefully accommodate this requirement who else is there to blame? I don't think it's a killer in this case and in some states here you can leave the front plate off. Where I live it's required but not always enforced, depends on the cop and behavior/attitude of the driver. I have no plate on my 2005 Jaguar STR as it would spoil the look of the car. I am in violation but I've never had a problem with that even at state inspection stations which are now pretty much just a joke now. Nothing like a MOT in the UK.
Ridiculous expectation. With literally tens of very different plate sizes in use around the world how could that be possible?
Tolerance also for smaller front plates here in the EU, but you take your risks... Image Unavailable, Please Login
