Maserati North America Dealer Meeting taking place in Austin.
Saw German review of customer car and host wasn't impressed. More gt than sports car and way overpriced at 300k €. Found it boring on streets and hiway. Could be tough sell compared to z06 despite its way superior design and style
Yeah but so are Aston Martins. And they could always offer sports version ... for more money of course! LOL
Look at the two meadow tests… The German reporter is ashamed of a reporter ,,, did a car test inside the city…
And I as the owner of the 458 have been waiting a long time for the car I will buy near the 458. And the Maserati is the vehicle that Ferrari had to make, a carbon chassis and an engine without electricity and what did we get from a Ferrari model 296 standard chassis and an engine with electricity and a price of $ 100,000 over the Maserati….
Well this should spark a bit of debate ... On the playback options you can select auto CC translated into English. I watched some of it but at the moment I have other things to do. I just wonder if this car is as fast as his speaking? It's just for some fun so don't get your knickers in a bunch over this. Faster than the MC20 | Maserati Ghibli TROFEO 2021
Maserati had organized a test drive with the Ghibli Trofeo in Varano on July 5th and I drove it there. Its Engine is very nice, no doubt - but its a heavy car that is rolling in corners. But thats normal. In no way is the Ghibli Trofeo faster than the MC20 on all sort of normal roads. Probably on a long straight, yes...but not in corners. Furthermore the weight balance is much better with the MC20, typical for a mid-engine car.
He said in the test some things are true 1. This vehicle is for someone who already has a Ferrari and he wants another vehicle near the Ferrari 2. The vehicle feels light to drive like a Ferrari 3. The vehicle must improve the exhaust system 4. One of the most beautiful vehicles on the market
I understand your reaction however cars are not compared only via numbers analysis as to power, acceleration etc but also in terms of feel, atmosphere while driving them, heritage, company identity. I have an engineer friend in Florida, very bright and successful but he is incapable of comparing cars without constantly referring to numbers, car talk with him is Groundhog day, hopeless. I see you are in Nascar country where people are deeply passionate about Chevy or Ford and often dislike the other brand(s) not because of numbers but because of historical and emotional factors, surely you see that. Well the image, heritage and feel that goes with a Corvette has nothing to do with a Maserati's. They are just very different, think Aston Martin and Lamborghini new car buyers; one typically appeals to discreet old money people whereas Lambos are often driven by very extrovert often new money types. Of course this is a tendency and does not depict all buyers. That is not to say I look down on Corvettes at all, I enjoyed driving a ZR1 in 2000 in New Orleans and -even though I am a classic car specialist and journalist for thirty years with little interest in current cars except very few such as the MC20 because I am passionate about the Trident. I loved the fact that some magazines here in Europe are calling the new Corvette better than the 911 which I feel gets more respect and fans than it really deserves. Certainly in terms of bang for the buck the Corvette is amazing as will be the new faster version....but no one compares wines by the degree of alcohol but for their taste and feel.
The "taste and feel" of the new Corvette is definitely different from the 2000 ZR1 you drove. Anyone that does not see that the new Corvette, especially the Z06, is seriously encroaching into Ferrari, Maserati, Lambo territory has yet to drive one. I, like you, always thought of the Corvette as the "redneck supercar"; but the new car's fit and finish, luxury and performance options, and ability to customize the car is quickly changing that image. The MC20 seems to be a very nice car but none of the two Maserati dealer in Atlanta has one to even show me .... and it has been many months since the car was announced. Patience and loyalty do have their limits ... Ivan
Here’s a better analogy, comparing Olive Garden to Francescana. Both serve Italian food, but at Olive Garden you get unlimited Bread Sticks.
Yes I noticed that. I actually sold John Bookout's ex Khamsin AM120-1234 from Pennsylvania to Germany in July. It was the first K I ever drove; Maser Miglia 1997 in Beaver creek and Denver, good memories Perhaps he will tell us if they are related.
