I agree, and there is nothing in the Porsche line up that can directly compare to the Alfa QV package. I was cross shopping a Panamera GTS which I admittedly like alot with the QV but decided it was time to give Alfa a chance and I am glad I did, the QV has blown me away in so many areas and its around 1000 lbs lighter than the Panamera as well, which is huge of course.

I think Alfa has carved out a special niche with the Giulia both 4cyclinder and QV and I hope they continue to develop the platform because its truly something special.

I'm just a car enthusiast in general and appreciate all different cars within different brands as long as they bring something special to the table. Lotus has models that do, Porsche certainly does in particular with their GT track cars, Ferrari(older models), Alfa, Maserati like your beautiful MC20, certain Vette models ect ect. I've never been blinded and stuck on one brand, take the best from each and recognize when a special car comes along, regardless the manufacture.

Side note, which tune are you running on your QV and any plans to modify the MC20, I know it's early!

A more direct comparison for the Panamera would be the QP Vl or Ghibli lll Trofeo/GTS variants

Convertible is a no for me as it it hides the engine and also will weigh more. The looks are subjective. And my gosh I hope they don’t lose any storage space it’s already tight!
But I do like that they’re adding a autonomous braking and 360 camera….. but again more weight

Every "nice" sports car I have ever owned had been a drop top and my next may very well be the Cielo - I currently have a 2021 718 Spyder with lots of mods. I assume it is too early to speculate on how many will be made, MSRP, etc. but I am keeping my ears open as I like what I see so far.

Can`t understand why someone orders a car and then try to sell it after 63 miles? Not only with this car also with Ferrari, Porsche etc. Only to make some 10k`s as a profit?

Dealers are selling these cars to people they should not be selling too. IMO - if you can’t pay cash, you should not be buying this car. And if you can pay cash - flipping for small profit makes no sense. I don’t get it.

I know of a person, who just orders his new Ferrari. When he`ll get it, he drives it around in his hometown and a little (nearby) abroad. Then he will sell the car.
Ths person has a lot of money and I can`t understand that someone like him sells his car ony to make 20-or 30k profit.
These individuals normally joke about these amounts....

“Call me Al” may be new to the forum but I know him personally, he’s genuine and a very competent driver.

Tom, love your MC20, it’s stunning! It’s nice to see you join the Fchat community, a resource of info and amazing people. Hope to see you at Area27 soon (I’m there next weekend Jun 10-12th)

    Hey thanks for the introduction
I’m going to be up at Area 27 for a whole week starting June 20. Maybe I’ll see you at the big club party on Friday June 24, Area 27 Member's Championship Party.
Can’t wait to bring my MC 20 up there I’m going to go sub two minutes with it…maybe
So today my second track day our local racetrack..this time on the short course layout.
The added camber and wider tires and lightening due to the lithium battery definitely helped. But it still needs more negative camber.
Also once you go past 500 miles it unleashes more power.
This car is a beast!! I just wish it was lighter like it was supposed to be
But I think I can shave 100 pounds off with a titanium exhaust and I already took 33 pounds off with the battery.
There’s some nice tracking pictures in this video too

Now how you going to loose another 500lbs.
Hard to understand where all that weight is comming from, Cf tub, V6 and fairly spartan interior.

How did you come up with “another 500lbs”? Lol
    Most is 450lbs over total
I do have the optional hydraulic lifter but I doubt that weighs more than 100lbs.
Car is 37XX lbs and that is that. Stated was 3307 lbs. it’s a lot but Ferrari has done things like this around 300 pounds recently if you do some simple simple Google research. But this is the biggest overage I have heard of. That being said I wouldn’t be surprised if this car is underrated on power. When I went over 500 miles and unlocked some additional extra level of power I didn’t expect and it’s a screamer now.
Also like I said the low low COG, stiff cf chassis and the large suspension travel helps make up for the weight.
And like I said I think I can come up with a total of 150 pounds to take away with my lithium battery already done and upcoming titanium exhaust and removal of particle filters which are quite heavy!

3750 lbs. Youve lost maybe 120 lbs, so 500lbs to go.
I know you cant loose that much weight, and given the spec Im wondering why its so heavy. We're talking C8 vtte weight, and the c8 structure is built out of metal.
Im sure the Mc20 is stiffer, but still if a car has a cf tub it should be light.

But then the cf alfa weights 6-700lbs more than the metal elise.

Your math is blowing my mind!
    3750-3307=443 over as stock
    443-33 battery savings=410 to go

    410
    -100!Future exhaust estimated savings
    310 over when done.

This will give me a MC20 with the optional hydraulic lifter that weighs about 3617 lbs which is not that bad.

if you can’t understand this math I can’t help you.

why it weighs that much with a carbon fiber tub I would guess they have made it extremely strong so it’s durable and also for safety. After all this is a Maserati.
The NA version of the 2015 Alfa 4C weighted about 2500lbs. The European version had a smaller carbon fiber tub and was about 300 pounds lighter.

I’m guessing the MC20 has a very strong tub is why it weights more than we hoped.

And please don’t talk about C8s in the same sentence as a MC20. They are totally different.
One is like an beautiful Italian F1 car that drives like a grand touring car and the other looks like a Camaro that got rear ended by a McLaren.

After a test drive and then waiting for the Cielo launch, just in case, I ordered a coupe last week. About 12 months away,
Very good road car, looks are great and it’s very useable. For me, it’s not an ideal track car, though can no doubt be helped in that direction if you want.
I think others have said it, but bits of it remind me of an Alpine crossed with an Alfa GTA. Ride is very compliant but handling is still sharp. Not too extreme and good for lots of miles. A bigger trunk would be nice, otherwise all good!
