Maserati MC20

Apologies if this is covered elsewhere. What is the current status of the MC20 Cielo and allocations? We were offered an allocation for a coupe when they fist came out, but passed and ordered a Portofino M instead because we prefer convertibles. I haven't followed the status enough to know if the Cielo allocations are sold out or coming back in future years. I'll be at the dealer next week for service on my 458 and will get their update, but interested in any feedback.

 

My understanding from my dealer is allocations are still hard to come by for the Cielo. The coupe is probably not so hard as there are many of those for sale used right now. I did get an email from Miller Motors on the East Coast that they’re taking orders for.Cielos right now, but I don’t know if that’s just Sales puffing or you can actually walk in and get an allocation.

 

Any thoughts on how many coupes are being produced each year?

Too many.

 

I don’t know, but I know my dealership ordered a coupe themselves and put it up for sale which means they didn’t have anybody willing to take that allocation. Once the drop top versions come out I think it’s a little harder to sell coupes. I’m so frustrated because mine cleared customs six weeks ago and the dealer still can’t tell me where the car is.

 

My Cielo finally arrived today. I wanted something different and it is! (Build started Feb 12 - took a longggggg time to get done and delivered)! Should be able to drive in about a week once PPF is done. Can't wait.

A historic day is coming, the car is obviously very new and might need some debugging but such a brilliant base car should yield a good racing car. Can't wait to see how it does!

My thoughts after 3 days and 180 miles

I absolutely love the design. And so does everyone else. This car has gotten more attention than any Ferrari I have owned.

It drives great as a daily driver. Comfortable and not loud (although I wish it was as I am one of those 458 greatest car ever guys).

It is quick but not as fast as I thought it would be based on reviews. Plenty quick for me but My 488 pulls way harder.

Love the doors - but they do get in way - already hit things twice opening doors

Steering - again great daily driver but not as much feedback as a Ferrari.

Dash/technology:: Personally, I would prefer knobs over the touch screen. And many of the things are very glitchy and not intuitive. Takes some getting used to.

Overall I plan to keep it for a while - very happy overall. I think it looks better than 296 (by a wide margin) but not as good performance / technology wise.

Will see how I feel in 6 months.

If anyone knows of anyone that has a Cielo - would appreciate an intro to them. I have one major issue with the car and need a second opinion.

 

Not sure if I can help but I have a Cielo primaserie.

 

Yours is a Cielo correct? I just was not 100% sure if they made those in coupe as well. The issue I’m having is with the top down the smell of exhaust/gas is really strong, especially in sport and Corsa mode. I’m gonna run it back to the dealership this weekend to see if there’s possibly a small leak or if it’s an airflow issue.

I only did 1300km so far with mine but do not recall any smell at all.
