Not sure if you have seen it, but the Rusnak group opened their Maserati dealership in Torrance, along Hawthorne Boulevard, between Lomita Blvd and Sepulveda. It's a couple of blocks north of Ferrari South Bay.

Last month they were at Coffee and Cars in PV and they returned last Saturday - first Sat. of every month at Peninsula Center - with a table and bottled water. Too bad it was kind of rainy. (No, my 348SS did not melt and the wipers worked fine, thank you).

I have met the Service Manager, Jasper, who seems pretty genuine. They are talking about an FCA or FChat event to introduce themselves to the area. If anyone hears anything, let us know. I will do the same.

On a side note, some of you may know my past experience with Maserati in the 80's (not good) but I am always interested when another Italian marque comes to town. Last month at PV C&C I overheard a few recent owners, with their cars parked together in the opposite corner as the Ferraristi, talking about their cars lack of daily driver reliability. The surprise was that they are accepted it because of what they were - Maserati's. Weird. One owner cited 8 dealer recalls in just over 12 months of ownership. Amazing.

Regardless, they are pretty and the dealership seems to be very responsive and responsible. Maybe I'm not an owner candidate, but I'd still support them now that they are local.

Wil Silva is the GM and a great guy. Well known in the South Bay when he worked for South Bay BMW and MBZ.

He used to be at Vasek Polak. In my experience, not a great guy. There's a reason he's moved around so much. I bought two MBs from South Bay Mercedes Benz, moved my business after he arrived. Purchased my BMWs from Neda at Beverly Hills BMW when he showed up at South Bay BMW. I was going to stop by the Maserati dealership but I'll pass now.

Maybe your experience was different. He will never get my business again.

Neda is nuts. ;) Small world. Still, I'll swing by Maserati for a look see. Doesn't hurt to be neighborly. SB BMW is better under McKenna now, IMO. Wish they had a Dinan installation shop there, though. SB MB does not have a good rep with me, however. Don't know if that was Silva's doing. I find them too mercenary, like SB BMW used to be.

Just received an M2 allocation from Neda and they're not even on the configurator yet. She never stops. Amazing.

Drove by the Maserati dealership on the way home tonight. Car in the most prominent position (in the middle of the showroom as seen driving by) is a Ferrari 430. Typical Silva move. He likes to take exotics and put them in the used car inventory, usually driving them around for a while to impress people. Did it at South Bay BMW and Mercedes Benz South Bay. I guess they'll do anything to try and get people to stop by.

McKenna is definitely a different animal. I think the South Bay BMW acquisition stretched their management team a little too thin. We'll see how it goes. I always had a great experience with their service department.

I saw that too George. Seemed odd, since the Ferrari dealership is 2 blocks south. I would have showcased my best Maser then flanked it with the 430 to show my dealership priority. Have you driven a Ghibli yet? I drove an older QP (2006) and really liked it. Had the F1 trans (Cambiocorsa) not the autobox. Heard the auto was pretty good since it was a BMW (ZF) unit. ;) I am still smarting from my 1988 Maserati ownership experience. I will never forget it. So traumatic. :D
