Although I am sure that this thread will be mover to "other italian", i placed it here in the general ferrari section as i feel it is better suited to go here.

My wife and i have had our maserati qp for about a month now and have to say that i simply love it. my wife uses it as her daily car. the qp is not like the other sedan/hp giants. this car truely feels, sounds and drives like a sports car, not a sedan. for those of you have not driven or riden in one, you must. i believe this is as close as ferrari will ever come to a 4 door car.

as unbelievable as this sounds, if i was to place you blind folded in the passenger seat and drive you around in both the qp and the 360 modena, you would not be able to tell the difference. about the only clue would be a very slight difference in exhaust noise and note.

the similarities between the ferrari and the maserati were most shocking for me. i was expecting a car that drove like an amg mercedes, not a ferrari. needless to say, i love it.

very similar to the modena f1. in auto mode it is a bit sluggish, but using the paddles, it is a blast. i can't tell any difference from the 360 in manual, in auto, it is better than the 360. what people are *****ing about is what makes the car great. it isn't an automatic nor is it a bmw or mercedes.

Great stuff! I just drove a Maser Spyder today for about 300 miles. Time permitting, I'll post my thoughts.

?!?!? Either I was in an anemic QP or you were in an anemic 360. Or maybe you don't push either card very hard.

I liked the QP, but it is far cry from a 360. It is nowhere near as responsive, nowhere near as flat in cornering, nowhere near as crisp in handling, much heavier feel, and much cooshier ride. And the sound is HUGELY different!

But then I wouldn't expect a luxury sedan to feel like a 360... the target market wouldn't consider that a good thing. Their target is to be like an M5, not a 360.

brian, i should clarify my impressions have been driving on the street and tnot the track. i imagine at high performance situations is where the difference will become more noticable.

The QP is definitely a better car than the S-class and the 7 in my opinion. The interior design and materials beats the german hands down. The only thing I don't get is the auto/manual button locating high in the middle console, but not next to the reverse shifter. Seems kinda out of place IMO. Anyway, I think the QP is a very nice full-size seden that you can go either fast or slow in. But for the almost the same exterior measurements with the S-class, there is definitely less interior room in the QP. BTW, how come you didn't get the sports package with the 19's?

I have the exact same interior and exterior color on my 03 CC.
